| I love that people are boohooing because they can't make up "facts" without them being deleted. |
| Awful and disgusting. And women are also often hunted while jogging. Just saying it’s not only a race thing. |

It is impossible to talk about this without echoes of Jim Crow.
He was shot because he was in the "wrong neighborhood" and because he didn't stop when a white man told him to. In order to understand the thinking behind this, you have to believe that Black people should only be allowed to live in certain places, and that Black people should obey all orders from white men, forever, in any situation. It's the only logic that works. |
Because it really doesn't matter. Even if he were jogging through the neighborhood scoping out houses to rob, it still wouldn't justify what these two people did to him. |
Women are hunted by ex boyfriends all the time... but not for simply being a woman. Also, let's not for a second think they are hunted by random neighbors and cops like black males are for simply being black and male. |
Women are often hunted and killed by sexual predators. Usually singular. Often at dusk or nighttime. Rarely in broad daylight (yes, I know there are exceptions). Rarely while a third person films for entertainment. Rarely after being tracked down with a vehicle. Rarely having been shot seconds into an altercation. |
Also, the murderers of women very rarely call the police and announce their intent to commit the murder, in the assumption the police would support and protect them. |

1) Had the video not been leaked nobody aside from that man's family would be disturbed by his death.
2) Had the video not been leaked nobody aside from that man's family would be second guessing the circumstances surrounding his death. 3) Had the video not been leaked nobody aside from that man's family be insisting that the white men who pursued and shot him be charged with a crime. What does all this mean? 1) Black lives DON'T matter. 2) Black people are automatically presumed guilty until proven otherwise. 3) The criminal justice system is far from impartial and still very much rooted in racism. |
Thanks! That is a good point. There is never a situation where a man calls 911 and say. hey my b*tch cheated on me so I'm gonna go kill her, you want to come along and help. |
Illegal? No. Suspicious when you’re in street clothes? Yes. |
Again, even if these men witnessed him breaking in- what does that change? |
If he was 10 miles from home, that’s a “casual” round trip jog of 20 miles. A marathon runner isn’t training in khaki cargo shorts. |
So it’s OK to shoot him? Not seeing your point. |
+1 Apologists keep saying "let these men have their day in court." Uh, yeah, it would've been nice for Arbery to have that option, too, instead of getting blown away for looking like a supposed burglary suspect. Last I checked, execution is not typically a sentence handed down to burglars. |
That's not true. I was very disturbed just by reading about the incident. I didn't see the video until later. WTF? Any redneck with a gun can do whatever the hell he wants? We need gun controls. Those a$$holes need to be in jail for life. |
