Standby to be called a racist for even asking this, and then watch your post be deleted soon.

This isn’t a discussion forum, it’s an echo chamber.

I know marathon runners who train every day at locations very far from their homes. They even have social media accounts documenting their routes.

Not to mention the fact that a good runner can easily do an 8-10 mile route without trouble.

What are you trying to say?

If he was 10 miles from home, that’s a “casual” round trip jog of 20 miles. A marathon runner isn’t training in khaki cargo shorts.

So it’s OK to shoot him? Not seeing your point.

Apologists keep saying "let these men have their day in court." Uh, yeah, it would've been nice for Arbery to have that option, too, instead of getting blown away for looking like a supposed burglary suspect. Last I checked, execution is not typically a sentence handed down to burglars.

This. The McMichaels lied from the very beginning. And the local police just...took them at their word.

They were allowed to go home. Live with their families. Laugh. Pray. Enjoy life. FOR. THREE. MONTHS. While Ahmaud lay dead because they decided it was alright to take two shotguns and hunt him down?

Insane.

The account McMichael gave police in the report is widely at odds with what the video from the chase reveals. Travis McMichael didn’t get out of the car during an exchange with Arbery, he was outside the car, armed with the shotgun, waiting for Arbery to pass by.

They pursued this man. Refused to let him pass. Got into an altercation that resulted in his death. And they may get off scott-free?

So he’s fair game for a racist nut carrying a gun?

The Daily Mail reports that the elder McMichael had investigated Arbery during his time as a LEO.

What does all this mean?

2) Black people are automatically presumed guilty until proven otherwise.
3) The criminal justice system is far from impartial and still very much rooted in racism.

That's not true. I was very disturbed just by reading about the incident. I didn't see the video until later. WTF? Any redneck with a gun can do whatever the hell he wants? We need gun controls. Those a$$holes need to be in jail for life.

That's the point...
Doubtful you would have even read about the incident had the video not been leaked in the first place because black lives DON'T matter and it wouldn't have received any coverage outside of two or three sentences on the crime section of a local periodical.

I'd bet my life savings that old white dude couldn't tell Idris Elba from Michael Jordan, let alone remember one Black man he investigated years ago.

He was two miles from where his mother lived. TWO MILES. Just stop.

Y'all do know the shooting occurred in February, right? It's May people. Why are you only just outraged about it now? Because you didn't know about it and the only reason you know about it now is because the video got leaked. His family has been grappling with this for months now and dealing with the pain of losing a loved one in addition to the outrage of the "Good ol' Boys" not even being investigated much less charged because the fact that they're white meant that their account of what happened was good enough for authorities.

Ok, but what’s your point? You are right - I didn’t know, and that’s a damn shame, but I do now and I’m outraged. Why is my outrage not good enough because I only have it now? You are fighting the wrong people, friend.

Need to ban vehicles, too. They would’ve just run him over if they didn’t have a gun.

The New York Times reported on it weeks ago, way before the video.

Did the burglaries and larcenies in the neighborhood continue after this occurred on February 23rd?

Are you the running attire police? People run in all sorts of things that I would not. Without bras that support them. Without proper hydration. In t-shirts and shorts that would chafe many people. Who are you to say what he should have been wearing? ANd I'm still not seeing why that justifies him being murdered in broad daylight by two dipshit racists who made assumptions as to why he was there and who did not like him being there?

It’s been out there because the victim had a criminal record which was public. The fact that it was the murderer was the one who had investigated him looks bad for the murderer, not the victim IMO. Makes him seem even more of a vigilante with a vendetta.
