Neither league-5

Based on these numbers, the top talent has moved to ECNL. Out of 20 top GDA programs 17 went to ECNL, 2 to GAL and 1 is undecided.

20 is a convenient spot to cut it off, also 2 of the 17 are GA clubs and who knows if their A team is in ECRL (not ECNL) or GA. GA is less than half the size of ECNL overall too.

Ok, what do you think is the appropraite cut off number? top 10? top 50? top 100? Whichever way you slice it, ECNL got the vast majority of the high ranked teams.

He is not a tough coach. The FCV girls have had tough coaches. They are going to colleges with tough coaches. Bobby has no soccer knowledge other than what he read in a book or learned in a class. He is volatile and demeaning. If he is ever corrected - even in a social setting about something not soccer related - he will relentless punish the kid for the rest of her soccer career. He was hired to bolster the social media presence of FCV. This is very important in this day and age and something Christian will never be able to do. I can NOT express enough how toxic Bobby is. It's too bad you can't just talk to some of the FCV players. FCV has always had a big sister/little sister program. The older girls spend most of their time listening to the younger girls (their buddies) cry about something Bobby did. It goes far beyond soccer. These girls are very good. They know they aren't perfect but want to improve. They can take it if they get reprimanded about a bad soccer decision. Thank goodness there are videos of every single DA game posted for public consumption. This is the only way the girls can defend themselves when they are getting scolded for an imaginary thing that happened on the field weeks and weeks before.

100 is good, since that was the original list. Just the narrative is a lot different when you try to say there are only 2 of something in a league, versus where it may end up, closer to 20 out of 55 or so.

Bottom line is ECNL may be the better league, and may have a much larger number of the top teams. But GA is a top level league too. Any league that has almost 20 of the league’s 100 best clubs is worth paying attention to, particularly if that constitutes about a third of the league.

ECNL boosters can try to paint GA as a second or third level league. But there will be plenty of weekends where teams from both leagues play against top level competition, and plenty of others where they play weaker teams. Across the two leagues, the stronger teams are roughly comparable to each other, as are the weaker teams. That does not shape up to be a situation where one league is clearly superior to the other by a significant margin.

+1 Especially in this region. There's little difference between GA and ECNL here. If you live out west, things may be different, but we don't.

1. The GA, as a league, is no where near the strength of ECNL. Not in this region. Not in the nation. The sales pitch is for your comfort. Not even the people selling you this actually believe it. Every single club in the GA would take an ECNL bid right now. No questions asked. Five minutes later, all of you would be on this board talking up ECNL. Stop the BS.

2. When the DA existed, the DA Atlantic conference itself wasn't strong. Not is this region. Not in the nation. They already lost PDA, NYCFC. Now they lose Penn Fusion. So tell me, who are you "playing day in and day" as you say.

A certain FCV team that was ranked #1 in their division didn't beat local ECNL teams that was just finishing up their HS season and had yet to start the season. Think about that. A #1 DA team playing ECNL teams that just reformed to start their season with no real games under their belt.

3. The GA Atlantic conference is weak and will be weaker once you realized that every single club will be impacted by not having ECNL. Yes, those clubs will lose players.

4. The ECNL Mid Atlantic division is, without a doubt, the strongest "local" Division for Virginia - south.

5. The ECNL NE South Division is, without a doubt, the strongest 'local" division for Maryland - north.

6. There is room for one more club in the MA ECNL. If FCV gets it, I want all you diehards to leave and join MU or Arlington

All Lavers has to do is accept TOPHAT and FCV and the GA concept is absolutely dead on the entire east coast of America. Its going to die off anyways. But, he could do it right now. No questions asked.

Two clubs. Think about that

^^^How is FCV going to get it? They are all in for GA-at least for this year. Conference has been announced already.

ECNL hasn't closed its doors, DA clubs are getting added.

Is Arlington still in the running too for ECNL?

Last year, FC Dallas and ECNL got into a major dispute with lawyers involved. Many thought this killed their chance to get back into ECNL. In fact, they were as good as dead and was going GA until..poof..they weren't. They negotiated their way back into the league.

What was their barging chip? No say.

Maybe they have dirt on Lavers?

Some suspect it was the Toyota Soccer Center, and their ability to use it of future events

Maybe. But I haven't heard their name being mentioned as of yet.
