I don’t think you want to use that term. It’s a southern derogatory term for Northerners who during reconstruction were implementing laws to stop the unfair Jim Crow laws of the south. I guess the opposite term is racist?

An outsider who pretends to be an insider is a carpetbagger; he's a person who tries to take advantage of a group by joining it only for his own personal benefit.

The fact that you need to look that up and take the most negative connotation associated with it in order to make a point about a soccer club shows your agenda.
