So delusional. Stop being a fake victim. |
Are you serious? SMH |
I think you misunderstand impeachment. The House impeaches the POTUS. Then, there is a trial in the Senate. If he is found guilty, then the POTUS is removed from office. This has never happened. Bill Clinton was impeached in the House, but acquitted in the Senate, so he stayed in office. If the House impeaches the Orange Criminal, the Senate will hold a trial, but will most likely acquit him, as the Senate is controlled by McConnell, a criminal himself, and the GOP, complicit all. |
Given the Liar-in-Chief's track record of always saying the opposite of the truth, clearly Mueller didn't uncover most of the LIC's crimes. There must be dozens, maybe hundreds of impeachable crimes the POTUS has committed, both before and in office, that have not been discovered. He says so. |
Not sure what part of my post lead you to believe I was misinformed on the process...? Pelosi isn’t going to back impeachment. It typically backfires. But in Clinton’s case, he won both the popular vote and the EC so I’m not sure you can compare situations.... meaning Clinton was more popular the Trump. Additionally, Pelosi is correct it will further polarize the citizens. Trump has a sh*t ton of investigations circling him. I think as time goes on the only support he will get in from Cult45, Graham, and McConnell. Trump is stupid and toxic. He should not be President because he is f*cking stupid and a con artist. |
That's not quite the same thing. Yes, of course, impeachment is risky for Democrats. But it's NOT the gift Dumputin is waiting for!! If it were, he'd welcome all the hearings! He would not threaten to take it to the Supreme Court (whatever that means? Call Daddy?). |
Pelosi is a good politician. I'm not sure deciding whether to impeach a possibly-criminal president is the right time to be a politician, though. |
I agree with everything you wrote. But I think the Democrats need to impeach the POTUS, else they will appear weak, as if they are looking the other way at POTUS's crimes. In any case, impeach or not, it's going to be a mess. The Democrats are not going to sit and allow the POTUS to order federal employees (paid by us, not him) to ignore legal subpoenas, risking jail. BTW, how come the Democrats are not jailing the people who are ignoring their subpoenas? Doesn't Congress have the right to jail people if they disobey the law? Let Gore, McGahn sit in jail for a few weeks. They might change their minds and disobey their Despotic Orange Leader. |
Why not? The federal employees who worked under Obama ignored subpoenas all the time. They have a model to follow. |
I'm trying to remember when Obama told federal employees to refuse to respond to subpoenas from the House. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any times that happened. Can you refresh my memory? |
I feel like the dialogue on this has started to shift, actually. Starting with Warren's call for impeachment. |
It was the time he was being investigated for colluding with the Russians, campaign finance fraud and giving a top secret clearance to his shady son-in-law. Oh sorry, that was Trump. |
You don’t get it.
The facts in the Mueller report are enough to impeach. The Congress investigations will serve the purpose of informing the public in a more sledgehammer-like way, since they all prefer to watch TV rather than read 400 pages. Plus some have bought into the Barr/Fox News spin about the Mueller report, so we need live sworn testimony to counter the spin. This is a campaign to put the truth squarely in front of the lies in a way that no one will be able to deny. As for opinions, you’ll notice that more and more politicians, lawyers and journalists are and will agree that impeachment has to happen. On both sides of the aisle. Some just needed to read the Report, others needed to think about it a bit more. This will continue to build and inevitably a turning point will be reached when public opinion follows suit. As for Pelosi, she’s always wanted to impeach, but she has played a very intelligent game of appearing against it, to lull pro-Trump media into a false sense of security and not startle his base. She will wait until most of her party are clamoring for it, along with half the nation, and then she will “reluctantly” do her duty. Sneaky, but highly efficient. |

Good luck. My prediction - It won't happen. Why? Because, despite what you say, there is not evidence in the Mueller report to go the impeachment route. Pelosi knows that. The Congressional investigations are all about the 2020 elections. They are not about getting to the "truth." They are a dog and pony show. And, they too will backfire. And, once we have the IG's report, there will be even LESS appetite for impeachment with the public. Oh, and the majority of the public want Congress to move on from the Russia report. Pelosi is paying attention to public opinion.
