How do you know? 20 clients a day with tips, 6 days a week, he could easily bring home that much money.

Oh, really? Let’s see...$2000 PER WEEK, just in tips, as OP said - so that’s $333 in tips per day for a 6-day work week, which is a $16 tip for each customer at 20 customers a day. What luck that this guy works at a place where he gets $16 in tips from every customer, every day! I should become a nail technician.

NP Here and I would just add that this translates to $100K per year for being a nail tech. Seems highly unlikely. Drug dealer maybe.

Not true. Earnings of all who live in house are counted. Yes, OP, report her. I am so damn tired of corruption, whether the entire Trump regime or the woman you know.

Absolutely not true. Our income was not counted when my MIL lived with us. I've done the applications and got approved, have you?

The boyfriend is the father!

It doesn't matter as they are not married. He's probably a drug dealer or something else.

It does matter. Food stamp goes by household income.

Ok, then it depends on how you define the household. If they are not married, he may not be included, same with a sibling, friend or other family member. We are not included in my MIL's benefits.

If this is just for being a nail tech, makes you wonder why people go to college. There must be some kind of mass delusion going on.

If someone else lives in the home, you have to report it and you have to present a signed statement by them that they purchase their food separately.

Why on earth aren't you feeding your MIL? She's on food stamps but lives with you? Ridiculous. Way to game the system.

Government can't even get back to us when we need it. OP is going the waste somebody's time big way. Actually, she can go ahead, they are going to do absolutely nothing, because her story doesn't add up.

If someone tells you they're gaming the system you believe that. I would report on this alone. The government can figure it out.

It's based on household income for services such as food stamps.

Medicaid however, in many states, is based only on income reported according to the tax return.

Really? When I was younger I had roommates and we all shared a house. One of my roommates had a boyfriend share the house. Do not have to count their income unless married.

There's a huge difference between roommates and FATHER.
