Dating and Feminism - Question for Men

We all know the only thing "the man" likes better than keeping women down is money. If they could squeeze out 23% extra profit, male unemployment would skyrocket over night.

Not debunked in data. I've seen it first hand. Massive percentage points. The glass ceiling exists. Particularly obvious the higher you climb.

+1. The market argument maybe works when you're hiring the grunts. But the market breaks down when you get to the upper levels? You think Jared Kushner got rich because he produces so much more of value than everyone else? When you talk about real money, it's more about social connections and the good old boy network.

Good video. For those arguing about pay gaps, glass ceiling, etc. watch this video to clearly understand how and why they exist.

The interviewer represents the "feminist" that most men would run away from. But I digress. Watch for the content.

And this is coming from being raised in a Muslim family, where my Muslim father was a solid equality supporting feminist, who understood and denounced the fact that women & girls were treated unfairly (even in the US), and regularly got the short end of the stick much too often - and usually as the default.

If you're a man and not a feminist, I'm going to assume you have some deep insecurity/value issues that step much further than gender issues, and stay far away from you.

I don't think you understand the term "feminist"

How masculinist of you to dare say that.

So wait, are we supposed to feel sad because women at the Jared Kushner level of the world supposedly aren't making enough money and getting enough promotions? "She got to VP but never made CEO" - cry me an effing river.

If the struggle for "equal pay" has been won except for the very upper echelons of corporate America, it is time for feminism to declare victory and go away.

Like hell. The upper echelons are where almost all the money is stored away. Old white men have most of the money. That's unbalanced in a lot of ways. Gender is one of them. And that skews society in a lot of unhealthy directions.

That's where you are wrong my friend. The women that make it to the top have all the negative male characteristics (a-hole, cut throat, aggressive, etc) AND female characteristics (pushy, nasty, catty, back-stabbing biatchery, etc) rolled into one package. They will not rest until they win world domination.

Thank God women abroad are not as crazy as SOME of the specimens we have back here. Remember that recent letter by French women attacking #MeToo excesses? That took guts.

Actually no. The wage difference is biggest at the low end of the job market. The assistant manager in some small town in Arkansas. A female would be not considered for the job or paid a lot less vs a male. In the urban white-collar jobs, the pay gap is small if it exist at all. Big professional companies have HR departments. The Jared Kushner of the world do well because they start with a lot of money and connections. Starting wealthy is the biggest factor to become more wealthy. There are many men who are not in the old boys club- that’s all about money and status. There are many women in the old boys club -right school, right parents, right country club, etc. Think of the opportunities, starting capital and connections Trump’s daughters have enjoyed.

There are no women in the country of old men. Massive pay gaps in tech industry the higher you climb. Rampant sexism. To the tune of women can't do maths throughout the ranks.

You prove and prove and prove over and over and over again your top rank. You end up making less for a number of societal reasons. It's a fact, opine all u like.

We're not arguing hourly wage workers. The higher you climb, the more apparent it becomes. You're just happy to be at the sausage party making 1/3 of your peers.

Ok well it's hard to argue against hard data like that. You've seen it so the problem is clearly pervasive.

Everything gets squirrelly at the upper levels. Those are called outliers.

I don't hear you complaining about female models far out earning male models at the top level.

It’s nice for you to have your opinion, but it is not backed up by facts. Antidotal incidents do not make the pattern.

Apples to oranges comparison. The product is female model or male model, not model. An algorithm doesn't have a gender commodity. Nice try though. Fair enough, my observations aren't hard data. Any female in tech doesn't need hard data living in the bias. It's widely known and discussed. Google the Googler who proclaimed men are better engineers. Come on, really? You think the pay gap is fake news?

How did Micheal Jordan get rich? Or Tom Cruise? Someone thought that they were worth hiring, and would make money for them. There isn't really a market for Micheal Jordan or Tom Cruise, because they are one of a kind.
