My daughter can take care of herself. You might consider teaching your own daughter. Have you talked to her regularly growing up? Do you discuss these things now? It’s best to establish a consistent rapport with your daughters.

You also have to make your daughter not expect men to do things or give her things. There are too many women around who have a princess mentality. They expect men to open doors, carry this, buy drinks, give gifts. These things are not free and you are not on equal footing when someone gives you something. They expect something in return.

I could assign some responsibility to Katie if she knew what a letch Matt Lauer was but acted friendly towards him and laughed while he cracked crude sexual jokes and was pinching her on the azz in a fairly blatant way in front of the other staff members.

I can see how that might have possibly given an intern the impression that fooling around with ML was an unwritten part of the job description.
