Nope, sorry. 5th grade is elementary school-aged last time I checked. And if a girl has a phone, a boyfriend, and is texting I love you to someone, I can guarantee she is looking up how to kiss, making-out, etc... and porn immediately pops up. For you to think that it doesn't happen so quickly, makes you clueless. |
Actually no. No one in 5th grade in my school went out with each other, had boyfriend/girlfriends, said we loved each other, talked on the phone, etc... We had recess, played outside with friends, and rode bikes. |
| Why does a 5th grader even have a phone? Is that becoming the new thing. My daughter is in 9th and she didn't get hers until 13. I can't imagine why a 10 year old would even need a phone with texting capabilities. |
I am in my 40's. In my Catholic school in Fairfax Co., when we were in 4th grade, we "went with" each other just like the list described above and it continued to 5th and onwards. And this was not just the "popular" kids. |
+1 |
And mothers of non texting 6th graders (like me) |
I'm a teacher and I agree with this. Elementary school crushes are very common. |
Ok. This is cray cray. How do you suppose that a 5th grader having a boyfriend (which isn't all that unusual) means girl is sending body pics? |
I'm 45 and i remember there being "couples'" in 5th Grade. It consisted of a boy asking a girl "will you go with me?" Girl saying yes and that was it. If there had been cell phones, that would have been a part of it as well. 5th Grade couples are the same today. They don't actually get together or do anything. |
For good or bad pretty much all 5th graders do. |
I gave my DD one towards the end of 4th grade when she started taking the train to/from school by herself. She had to call me when she got to school (train let her out two blocks away) and this way when we were meeting on a main street to walk the mile home after school/work she could text/call if her train was stuck or she missed the one we thought she'd be on, etc. |
