Remember when you were in fifth grade and people "went with" each other? Which meant:

1. classmates knew they were "going with each other"
2. it lasted about a week
3. maybe they talked to each other on the phone

It's just like that now, only texting on the phone instead of talking. And emojis.

Actually no.  No one in 5th grade in my school went out with each other, had boyfriend/girlfriends, said we loved each other, talked on the phone, etc...    We had recess, played outside with friends, and rode bikes.  [/quote]

I am in my 40's. In my Catholic school in Fairfax Co., when we were in 4th grade, we  "went with" each other just like the list described above and it continued to 5th and onwards.  And this was not just the "popular" kids.
