Sleepover with gay dads

Anonymous
The reality is these men worked very hard to have/get a child and more than likely of all dads out there, they probably are not of concern. I would be more concerned if I did not know them well, regardless of sexual identity or gender. I don't see all the issue. However, OP, you need to be careful about allegations of abuse.

No it doesn't. But men are child molesters 99% of the time... married or not.

This is not true at all.

What I find interesting, is so many of you are worried about the dads - but almost 30% of the time, children who are under 9 who are sexually assulted are assulted by somone in their own age group. So those of you who are worried about sleepovers - keep an eye out for those friends and brothers.

And FFS people, teach your young kids about sex and stop using dumb ass terms like "privates" and "wee wee" because you are just asking your kid to get molested.

Let's see how statistics works.

That means 70% of the time, children who are under 9 who are sexually assaulted are assaulted by someone NOT in their own age group.

40% of the time it is an acquaintance

and again, 99% of the time the perpetrator is male.

If men are so up in arms about being judged maybe they should work on MEN being less animals.

Where are you getting your statistics from? And what age ranges are you using? As someone who works in this field you need to be more clean on your terms.

And actually, that's not how statistics work. You math right here shows that you know shit about statistics.

All age ranges, 99% of men/women/boys/girls are molested/raped by men. Not gay men, btw, men.

Gay men are not more likely to abuse than straight men.

I'm 100% sure you did not get that statistic from the Department of Justice. If so, please show me where so I can be sure to fix that mistake when I get to work tomorrow.

Reading this thread has made me realize we will not allow sleepovers, period. Not because a dad might be present, but because you people are %$#@!*& crazy. Who thinks that every man is a predator???

+1 Exactly this. I'd have to know all of the adult members of the household well. Wouldn't care at all about gender or sexual orientation.

99% of predators are men (it's actually 95%).... Not 99% of men are predators.

You know the difference right?

Those of you who say no to, for example, sleepovers with teenage brothers - how do you do this? Just say no to this family and yes to others? Just say no to all sleepovers? Doesn't it get awkward, especially if kids are best friends? (NOT saying you should do something you're not comfortable with to avoid awkwardness, but I'd like some tips on how to deal.)

Oh god, on behalf of the 99.9999% of sexual abuse victims all over the world who were abused by men (and not women), SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!

Look, I'm not even the DOJ PP, but you really need a lesson in reading comprehension. From your link:

Established in June 1997, CSOM’s goal is to enhance public safety by preventing further victimization through improving the management of
adult and juvenile sex offenders who are in the community. A collaborative effort of the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs,
the National Institute of Corrections, the State Justice Institute, and the American Probation and Parole Association, CSOM is administered by the
Center for Effective Public Policy.

This does not mean you are getting statistics from the DOJ. You are getting your statistics from the Center for Effective Public Policy in collaboration with the DOJ. DOJ provided some information, but not necessarily the statistics. You don't know which parts of this report are from the DOJ.

That's just the start of your reading comprehension problems. And there are many more. You are touting statistics that you don't even understand and just mashing them together like a bad Glee song.

Hey bitch - I was horribly molested by my mother (who is in fact, a woman). Am I less of a victim in your eyes? After college I was raped by a man. Guess which has done longer term damage? Hint, it wasn't the man. So why don't you STFU?!!

Or you can send you children out naively thinking female always = safe. Good plan

Doesn't bother me at all. I have hosting sleepovers, so the fewer kids the better.
