I think you also have to consider what brands of clothes you are buying. Banana Republic is cut a LOT bigger than the more designer/trendy stuff you find in the boutiques (Citizens of Humanity, Joie, Theory, etc). |
i lost 50 lbs after twins and i have to admit i am still obsessed with my weight. i'm skinny but i do get in a bad mood if i weight myself and scale moves up a couple of pounds.... i'm not naturally a skinny person. all the women in my family are obese and many have died before 55 due to weight issues. on top of that my husband is great looking and hot. i'm ok looking, but attracted him partly because of my hot bod at the time.... my sister is a size 0, ultra competitive...so there is alot of pressure to stay slim.
sucks! |
Yeah, what a bunch of losers. I can't believe people actually know their exact weight. It's like they own a scale or something.. and Gasp! actually use it. |
>>Yes, you can lose weight without using a muscle. And your ass will look just like my mom's.<<
I just want to thank whoever posted this! I started exercising about a week before reading this comment and I have to say, I keep it up partially because every time I start my workout, I laugh and think about my mom's granny underwear! And, yeah, that health benefit. Thanks, DCUM. |
You are a complete idiot for making such a comment. I know my exact weight because my nurse told me at my last physical. I don't have a scale at home. Whether people know their weight or not is not a reason to call anyone a loser. A loser is someone who hits their kid. A loser is someone who drinks alcohol and then gets behind the wheel. A loser is someone who is a single mom with a boyfriend who treats her young children badly. A loser is a parent that doesn't look over or help her children with their homework. A loser is someone who feeds junk food regularly to her children. Someone who knows their weight may actually be health conscious. My nurse told me my weight because she was worried I was a bit underweight. Next time you want to write something nasty, think for a few minutes. |
It is kinda funny to say you know your exact weight....doesn't weight fluctuate from day to day? Even from hour to hour? Mine does. I can say for sure that I am 5 foot 4 inches - that seems to stay constant. But on any given day my weight goes up or down about 3-4 lbs. |
I am a size 4 at those stores (Banana Republic, Gap) I am a size 2 at Ann Taylor! But if I shop brands like Theory, BCBG, etc - I am an 8 or a 10.....sometimes more! I am 5'4" and a little under 130...... |
I had your reaction at first, too, pp but then I realized that the other pp was being sarcastic. |
Umm, that was sarcasm. I thought the "Gasp" gave it away. I'm one of the people who posted their exact weight. |
Im 5'11 and 135. Got here (my pre-preg weight) by running 3x week for an hour and using elliptical 2x week for an hour. That's 5 hours exercise/week.
I also eat a boatload of veggies and not a lot of pasta or rice, though i do eat bread. Good trick is to get those pre-washed salads that come in a box. Throw in Parm, tomatos etc and a bit of dressing and put the lid on and toss. NO dishes and so filling even if it is just salad. My stomach will never be the same, though. My abs split during pregnancy and whenever i have to pee or am full my stomach sticks out. So annoying. But what can you do.... |
Have an affair with a good plastic surgeon! That should do it. |
All this talk about dress sizes irritates me because it doesnt take into account HEIGHT
I am 5'11 and even when I had an eating disorder in college I don't think I was a 2 let alone a 0. There are lots of women who are shorter and far chubbier than I who wear smaller dress size. Also, sizes have def changed! I am now wearing a size 4, which I have never fit into before--even in college. And, no, I am not talking BR--the stuff I get at Bloomingdales/Saks is bigger than before. Or maybe I am less afraid to wear form-fitting stuff?? Who knows. |
I've been able to bounce back and stay at my pre-pregnancy weight (5'10 and 145) twice by doing the following:
Try to exercise (was good about it after DC#1, but after DC#2, it's been hard and doesn't always happen). No soda (even diet - there was a study that showed that people who drink diet soda weighed no less that people who drank regular) or juices or sugared teas. Basically, just water, tea, coffee and rare alcohol. All of these drinks are empty calories. Get enough calcium. As in, nonfat yogurt or skim milk (non-fat lattes are my favorite). Normal calcium levels have also been linked to greater ability to maintain a normal weight. Eat mostly whole grains. (100% whole wheat bread, brown rice, whole grain pasta) The whole grains take longer to break down, so you have more steady glucose levels and don't feel hungry so soon as when you're eating refined grains. Include protein in your meals. Don't brink junk food into your house (Doritos, ice cream, whatever your down fall is). If it's not there, you won't eat it. Good luck! |
Dr. Michael anchors!! He's the best! |
I'm not a skinny mom, but I have lost 30 pounds in the last four months. Try the Serotonin Plus diet, developed by a local doctor - Dr. Robert Posner, in Burke, Va.
http://www.spdiet.com Its based on the fact that most people make less serotonin as they age. The lack of serotonins cause carbohydrate cravings because when you eat carbs, your brain will make more serotonin. So by taking the Serotonin supplements, you no longer crave carbs, you stay on your diet and lose weight. Plus your mood usually improves - whether its due to the serotonin supplements or the weight loss success I don't know. But I highly recommend it. My health insurance even covers this weight loss plan! |
