Skinny moms - how do you keep the weight off? Is it possible...

Anonymous
I love to cook and eat/drink whatever I want when entertaining or going out (including all the bad stuff - chocolate, bread, pasta etc.). Hate working out, but do on a somewhat regular basis b/c I like to be fit - just feel so much better (but I'm def. not a hard core work out fanatic...). I'm 5 7 and gained 50 pounds with both pregnancies - then lost the weight in 6 months through breastfeeding and the following rules........cut down on bread as much as possible and keep lunches and breakfasts healthy(coffee/tea cereal with fruit, yogurt etc.) and run or yoga a few times a week. Also, lots of water..........best thing we ever did was get a dog - walking has worked wonders. ( I'm a size 4 or 6. and have been for years. It's pretty simple - and the exercise allows me to eat dessert when I want to ......

I am 5'11 and even when I had an eating disorder in college I don't think I was a 2 let alone a 0.
There are lots of women who are shorter and far chubbier than I who wear smaller dress size.

Also, sizes have def changed! I am now wearing a size 4, which I have never fit into before--even in college. And, no, I am not talking BR--the stuff I get at Bloomingdales/Saks is bigger than before. Or maybe I am less afraid to wear form-fitting stuff?? Who knows.

Soooo true.
I am 5'11 too and am at my lowest weight (133-135) but am wearing a MUCH smaller size (4, sometimes even 2!) than I did when I weighed this in my 20s. And I am talking Saks, Bloomingdales, Barneys, etc. I cant imagine i am just wearing stuff more snugly because I am hardly desperate to show off the sagging boobs and belly!

the only thing that has worked for me is running and running hard. no it's not fun but guess what, looking good takes work so i suck it up and i tell myself it's only an hour. and the best thing i've done is integrate intervals into my treadmill workouts and i'm now almost as teeny as i was in high school (this from a woman who gained almost 60+lbs with her pregnancy). it feels great to be in my skinny jeans and potentially need skinnier jeans!

Don't get too skinny. Skinny people have a shorter life expectancy than people who are a little chubbier. This does not suprise me, often really skinny people look like they are recovering from an illness.

Well...skinny people are not why we have a health care crisis in this country! Little chubbier is all realtive and being overweight even by a little is not healthy for parents or their kids.

Weight Watchers works. I started almost a year ago and lost 22 lbs between mid July and Oct and have kept it all off!
