Yes, it's been debunked. Original vs photoshopped by the gun nut racists.

According to Chief Steve Bracknell, Shellie Zimmerman called 911 claiming George Zimmerman had a gun and was making threats. The victims are not speaking to police and were waiting for their attorney to arrive, Bracknell said.

As of 3:20 p.m., no arrests have been made.

Frankly, given what Zimmerman went through in the media, etc, his life is a living hell and people for some reason think this is OK. Personally, I don't.

I think his wife is going to milk that for all its worth - starting with the media interview she gave. He's no longer of any use to her and she wants money. Can you imagine your wife, knowing there was a bounty on your head, wanting you to buy a life insurance policy with her as the beneficiary? How cold is THAT?

Whether I think what happened was right or wrong, the man was tried and convicted in the media and public eye, despite the fact that he was acquitted. I find that disgusting.

What bounty? She is just hedging her bet in a logical manner. It is not like she killed him or anybody.

New Black Panthers put a bounty on Zimmerman's head.

Killing an unarmed person is disgusting. Zimmerman and all he represents is what is wrong with America.

Martin was indeed armed. He used his fists.

There is no evidence of this. You're forgetting that Zimmerman's "injuries" were not examined until an entire day later after he murdered Trayvon, and declined going to a doctor or being x-rayed. I'd go to Vegas betting that Zimmerman's injuries were done at his own hands, or someone very close to him, to weave together a fabrication.

The article was updated since I first posted. The current article (which also may eventually be updated), says this (which you appear to have edited):

"As of 3:45 p.m., no arrests have been made and George Zimmerman is 'no longer in investigative detention'.

So, Zimmerman was being held at one point.

My vote is "questioned" and "held" are equals...detained is a step beyond.

Most here will probably admit they'd hoped he was being detained, but 'held' and 'questioned' really don't have much sunlight between then.

Yet, I didn't use the word "detained". I quoted exactly from the original newspaper article.

I think what most posters are concerned about is that Zimmerman was involved in a domestic dispute with a gun. They are less concerned with semantics.

I'm not concerned about that at all, Jeff. And after reading the linked article, the title of this thread is very misleading, even if it did come from the article.

Okay, just so we are clear. You are not concerned about domestic disputes involving guns. I assume that if your husband threatens you with a gun, you will just smile and thank him for showing how much he loves you?

The title of this thread was the title of the article I quoted. If you have a problem with it, take it up with the newspaper.

no i would shoot first.

Shoot and end up in jail like Marissa Alexander who only fired warning shots, "stood her ground" but was still convicted?

She is a black woman who fired shots near a black man. Of course she's going to go to jail. If it were the other way around, probably not much consequences.

See...this "Zimmerman is a victim" stuff is a little too crazy. None of us know what really happened that night, although based on some of the facts about GZ's temper, we can probably hazard a good guess that it had something to do with it. What we DO know is that an unarmed teenager died by his hand. Any normal human being with an ounce of remorse would lay low. Not this guy. Besides the traffic stops, do you know that this guy recently took a cheesed up picture with the guys at the factory who made the gun he used to kill Trayvon? I call THAT disgusting and I call that rubbing it in. His life is pure hell because of decisions that HE made that did not turn out so well - including to decision to follow Martin.
I don't even care about remorse. Anyone with an ounce of intelligence would know that he ought to lay low for awhile at least.

Well yes he was acquitted because the prosecution failed to prove its case. Even one of the jurors was upset that she had to acquit him. Being acquiited does not mean you are innocent morally.

This guy is an azzhole who has been in trouble before and will be in trouble again. If he were AA, no doubt people would be calling him a thug. Since he is not, let me be the first to say it - GZ is a self indulgent, unredeemable THUG! This is not the last we will hear of him a bad light. I bet you.
