The victims are not talking to police about the alleged incident and he is being questioned not bring held. A big difference than what the OP put in headline. According to Chief Steve Bracknell, Shellie Zimmerman called 911 claiming George Zimmerman had a gun and was making threats. The victims are not speaking to police and were waiting for their attorney to arrive, Bracknell said. As of 3:20 p.m., no arrests have been made.
The article was updated since I first posted. The current article (which also may eventually be updated), says this (which you appear to have edited): "As of 3:45 p.m., no arrests have been made and George Zimmerman is 'no longer in investigative detention'. So, Zimmerman was being held at one point.
My vote is "questioned" and "held" are equals...detained is a step beyond. Most here will probably admit they'd hoped he was being detained, but 'held' and 'questioned' really don't have much sunlight between then.
Yet, I didn't use the word "detained". I quoted exactly from the original newspaper article. I think what most posters are concerned about is that Zimmerman was involved in a domestic dispute with a gun. They are less concerned with semantics.
I'm not concerned about that at all, Jeff. And after reading the linked article, the title of this thread is very misleading, even if it did come from the article.
Okay, just so we are clear. You are not concerned about domestic disputes involving guns. I assume that if your husband threatens you with a gun, you will just smile and thank him for showing how much he loves you? The title of this thread was the title of the article I quoted. If you have a problem with it, take it up with the newspaper.
no i would shoot first.
Shoot and end up in jail like Marissa Alexander who only fired warning shots, "stood her ground" but was still convicted?
she left the house and came back with the gun and started shooting towards the kids and husband, how is that standing your ground. Nice try racist
