No, not interested in white men.

BTW, the most obnoxious thing is that wait staff always ask if we went separate checks.

This thread is so bizarre to me. I had friends with mixed race parents, growing up 30-40 years ago. Granted it was more unusual then, but my high school was very diverse, so everyone I knew dated someone from another race at one point or the other. Everyone. And now I live in the DC area, and mixed race families are completely normal. I don't get how this is something to even be curious about??

I still enjoy a very strong, loving relationship with the AA community. It will always be a part of who I am and my DW is very much a part of that bond.

I dont get this. How is your wife part of the bond you feel towards the AA community?

Had your wife dated black men, or men of other races before you?

Where was it you grew up? I grew up in Europe and when I moved to DC in 1998, I was shocked at the obvious prejudice against mixed race couples (and the fact that there weren't many then). It's definitely more common 15 years later, but the fact there is even a thread here on the topic suggests it's still considered unusual or "shocking". It wasn't anything unusual for me growing up overseas.

OP sounds more like Quincy Jones.

How do your mutual friends skew racially?

I.e., are you one of few black people in your broader mix, are you pretty well diverse, or is your wife the only white person in your crew?

It's not unusual or shocking. OP must think he's special.

OP here. Hysterical! We loved watching Paula. Don't know what to think of her, now. She can throw down in the kitchen - truth-be-told, the irony here is that she's learned a lot of that from black folks in the South, IMO.

I'm OP. Just a little bit of both - I mostly like 80s stuff.

OP here. I have no motive - just thought some people might be curious. Honestly, I do feel special because while we are seeing more IR couples, it's still very different for a lot of people. I figured this could help de-mystify some thing, albeit from a very limited perspective.

Does your wife remind you of your mother?

And, when you look at her do you see white or woman, first?

By the why, what inspired you to put up this post, you said earlier that it took you a while to respond to our replies because you were between meetings. It just seems like an odd thing to do given your time crunch.
