Where was it you grew up?  I grew up in Europe and when I moved to DC in 1998, I was shocked at the obvious prejudice against mixed race couples (and the fact that there weren't many then).  It's definitely more common 15 years later, but [b]the fact there is even a thread here on the topic suggests it's still considered unusual or "shocking"[/b].  It wasn't anything unusual for me growing up overseas.[/quote]

OP here. I have no motive - just thought some people might be curious. Honestly, I do feel special because while we are seeing more IR couples, it's still very different for a lot of people. I figured this could help de-mystify some thing, albeit from a very limited perspective.[/quote]
