I can't be friends with people who.....

I can be friends with just about anybody, provided they are a basically decent human being.

Some of the most interesting and fun friends I have made in my life are people whose views I find abhorrent.

I think there is a lot to be gained from having friends whose views are different from yours.

That said, if people have no sense of humor, they can go fuck themselves.

Are republican and/or use the words hubby or preggers

Republicans

Ahhh...because liberals are so compassionate and open-minded.

Better that your biases decide who you are friends with, rather than who gets shafted under the law.

20:40 here again!

OP, are you one of those women who think you are being SO naughty by drunkenly chastising your husband in public? Because everyone else just married people they actually respect.

Uh oh I do this a lot. Does it really annoy people? We just have that kind of repertoire in our relationship... We still are very close and love each other.

yes it really does annoy people. you say you are close and love each other, but you clearly don't like each other. leave the arguing at home.

It's more than annoying. It's really embarrassing to see someone's spouse criticized or belittled in public. You may think it is harmless but even in couples who take it in stride, eventually someone steps over the line.

They're boring.

So not true. I have nothing to take. And I am far from boring (intellectually, and by way of all of my life experiences that many people only see on TV).

We don't. We're mostly surrounded by other women. There's a serious dearth of males in general at my school. The ones who are there are either married or gay. So it's a valid complaint. But I guess it's annoying if one doesn't shut up about it.

As far as teetotalers go, yes, they bug me, but it wouldn't preclude me from being friends with them.

YOU are judgmental and close-minded.

And I hate to burst your bubble, but SaraH (not Sara) Palin is smarter than you.

Her accomplishments speak for themselves. Have you ever been governor of the largest state in America? Ran for president? Written a best-seller? And all the while, she doesn't exactly have it easy street with a special needs child and having a teenage daughter have a baby. She is amazing - even if you do not agree with her views, you should at least acknowledge that she is quite accomplished. AND beautiful.

And don't forget, she reads ALL the newspapers. And she can see Russia from her house.

Which is such a shock, b/c when you decided to go into teaching, you thought it would be chock-full of potential husband-material-types?

It's not a shock at all. It's just annoying when one is horny.

And PS, why did you expurgate my post? I admitted it was annoying to others, but you chose to remove that part from my quote.
