I personally can't be friends with people who are so black/white about everything...like this person.

I prefer friends with an open mind and positive attitude. Not ones who will judge you secretly behind you back if - heaven's forbid - you correct your husband when he gets your anniversary date wrong or something like that.

I don't drink...I do go to events with my friends who drink and I just order a soda. It doesn't bother me or them, so I really don't see a negative with that. I am usually the dd.

Why can't you? FWIW I would not care if you did not drink and were my friend. I would only have an issue if you were smug or condescending about my drinking

Recovering alcoholic. Oh yeah, I hate people who are smug and condescending about this. I usually just don't mention it and let people figure it out when I order a coke.
