The word Palestine comes from "Philistine." In languages such as Arabic and Farsi, "Palestine" is pronounced with an "f", i.e., variants of "Phelesteen."

So there's no disputing that these people lived there side by side with the Jews, if you lend any credence to your Bible.

Uh, no. But it is extremely implausible that all of the men are from ancient palestine and the women are all fakers. But they could easily enough do mitochondrial DNA analysis to replicate the results for women. For all I know it has already been done, but I haven't read that one.

No, but it nullifies one argument, namely that one or the other group does not have an ancient, historic claim to the territory. This is not insignificant, as an earlier poster brought it up and it has been used by both sides to deny their enemy's legitimacy.

And it does a second thing. It points out that both groups have a common heritage. That may not mean much, but it is true. More of this type of evidence will appear in future years, only highlighting that these groups have more in common than they realized.
