I don't know what you are talking about with taking it seriously and this nonsense about "the lesser people". But DNA analysis has been used to refute racist myths. The biological record is useful information. The reason we are talking about Y chromosomes is because someone tried to question the legitimacy of Palestinians as a people. And I responded by saying that we an demonstrate that Jews and Palestinians have a common prehistoric ancestry, meaning that they lived together in biblical times. So now that it validates your political perspective, perhaps you will find the information acceptable. |
forget about religious books.
Lets all read Winnie the pooh The world is for everybody What is so difficult about that? |
But what about the bees? |
The Palestinians of today are not the same people as the biblical Philistines. The Romans started using the word when they were in control of the region. Before 1948, Jews in the region were referred to as Palestinians, too, or sometimes Palestinian Jews. There are also ethnic Arab Jews (who are not converts, or at least not recent converts). I would add this: Israel polices the region. No one else will do the work or spend the money. If you think that Hamas and Hezbollah are just provincial menaces and have nothing to do with us, I suggest you think again. They have global aims, and have recently, to cite one example, been found to be working with drug cartel in Mexico. http://www.businessinsider.com/lulzsec-leak-reveals-terrifying-ties-between-hezbollah-and-mexicos-drug-cartels-2011-7. Hezbollah now runs Lebanon basically unopposed, and they face no opposition externally, except from Israel. Europe is completely unprepared for terrorist problems, and they have no stomach for it anyway. Turkey, which used to be a reliable ally and bulwark against the spread of Islamic extremism, is now consolidating ties with Iran rather than with Europe. (You can debate the many reason for this, but it remains a fact.) I have personally been to Iran 3 times in the last 3 years, and I know what Islamic extremism looks like. It's not something we have to look at daily here in the States. The Israelis live it. I doubt many Americans would care to change places with them. Would you like to have Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan seething on your borders with Iran just a missile flight away? Think about it before you answer. |
For the PP who complained that Donna Shalala was frisked because of her last name, I would say that Israel tends to be an equal opportunity frisker. El Al officials frisked my brother, who has a Jewish first and last name. No criminal history, no problems flying ever. Flight was Paris - Tel Aviv. |
Since modern palestinians and Israelis share a common genetic history, you can't really invalidate their historical legitimacy without invalidating that of modern Jews. And Israel does police the region, but the primary source of conflict that requires policing is due to Israel. Hezbollah isn't some Marxist anti-American group that picks on Israel because it is the nearest pro-western target. Your statement about Turkey is a complete misread that no one knowledgeable in foreign policy would agree with. And lastly, your three trips to Israel do not make you an expert on extremism. I am sure it is enlightening, but come on. I was there from 2006-2009 including the war. |
OP THANK YOU FOR HAVING THE BALLS, THE COJONAS, THE STEEL WHEELS TO WRITE THIS!
God, I am so F>>>>> SICK of Israel and all these politicians who put ISRAEL BEFORE AMERICA'S BEST INTEREST. I so embarrassing... it's like WE are sucking on ISRAEL'S DICK. Our whole foreign policy has to first be approved by Tel Aviv and it has made us an honest broker of NOTHING. And all it does is cost us on and on and on and on. |
It's about American politics and American Jews. |
I think, if you read my response more carefully, you will find that I was not disputing the "historical legitimacy" of the Palestinians. I was merely correcting the assumption that they are the same people as the Biblical Philistines. They are not. I think Palestinians would actually take offense at being thought to be so. Continuing the close reading, you will find that I did not say that I had ever been to Israel. I have not. I have been to Iran. What part of my statement about Turkey is a complete misread? The fact of the matter is that they used to be solidly secular and wanted very badly to be a part of the European Union. Their ruling party is not extreme, but it is certainly not secular, which constitutes an enormous change. I don't think there can be any doubt that Erdogan's party enjoys its strongest support among the Islamists. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/turkey/8071659/Turkey-objects-to-Nato-missile-shield-targeting-Iran.html and also http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/turkey/6743389/Turkeys-moves-towards-Iran-concerning-United-States.html |
Hezbollah is not Marxist, but it is certainly anti-American and it would happily pick on Americans if they were within easier reach. If you doubt that, then there is no point to continuing any discussion. |
Are you trying to be thick-headed? Hezbollah hates America because we are pro-Israel. It was founded during the 1982 Israeli invasion of Lebanon. It would not have come into existence if not for Israel. |
So if the US stops supporting Israel, Hezbollah will stop chanting "death to America?" |
Do you mean if we stop vetoing US resolutions, withdraw our $3 billion in aid, and tell the world that we are adopting a neutral and non-interventionist position in the gulf region? Yes. They would stop saying "death to America". |
UN resolutions |
The money from the us is going to stop soon, same with NATO/Europe. Times are changing and Americans are not going to continually give money to a country/countries with a better living standard then the us. |
