| 11:17 poster again. Point taken I guess but went back an reread the original post with your comments in mind and I still think everyone taking offense at it is overselling on this one. I am a mom and middle aged and wear capris and visit DCUM frequently (have for years). I didn't take offense at the original post, I thought it was written in a somewhat humorous way. It doesn't even come close to what might qualify as rude or nasty on this site in my opinion. Not even close. So I continue think its appropriate for the fashion forum. |
With an assist from office park dads wearing baseball caps and cargo shorts. |
| I came to this website to see if I was the ONLY one who thinks capri pants look silly and was so happy to learn I am not. I am middle-aged,short and fat and do not own a pair of capris and never will. To keep cooler in summer,I wear cotton pants(that go all the way down to cover my fat ankles) On the rare occasion I wear shorts in public, they are dark colors and go to just above my knees. To the women wearing socks and shoes with capris.....does that exposed 3inches really make you cooler? Last I checked, this is a free county, you can wear what you want,I was just curious. mamadawg45 |

I like how they look on others and I feel great wearing them, so I'll continue to.
I noticed they wear them on iCarly. What do those girls have to be ashamed of, I wonder? Too skinny maybe. |
Could you please post a link of the kind of pants you wear (cotton and in your size)? I am short and fat as well and I need a good alternative to jeans because it is killing me. No shorts because my knees are gross! |
| I am so happy to find this posting! Capri pants are awful and no-one looks good in them. Tall, thin women think they look hot but -- "you don't!". Capri's are just a funny fashion trend that people with no real sense of style would be caught dead in -- and yes I include celebrities in this! they look stupid too! All women look stupid in capri's and all men look beyond stupid in capris. There is no hope for the latter. |
| love this old thread. heinous people, just heinous!!! |
| OK - I'm willing to give up on capris if you post me links to the sort of thing I should be wearing. It's got to be weekend casual, fairly lightweight/cool for summer (i.e. not denim) and go with all my tops. |
| I think capris are fine. Wear them if they keep you cool in the summer. Seriously, I don't think you should take fashion advice from the haters on this thread. |
| I'm sure the original OP is long gone but in case she isn't, OP, I'm wearing capri length pants today and I'm 55 and short and stocky! Ha ha! Thinking of you, OP! |
| What about lightweight linen pants? |
Not ver practical for every day wear. They are w wrinkled mess after about an hour and need to be dry cleaned. |
I'm sure your partner isn't thinking of you... |
| I just heard about this new thing called a sundress--it's really cute and cheap and comfortable and I hear it works well even on hot days. |
Smartpants, aren't you? Pun intended. This new thing called a sundress might not look good on everyone. Depending on your body shape, it can actually be drawing attention to your trouble spots. In my book, some women look better in their capris than in their sundresses. |
