Missy Smith anti-abortion ad

NP here. It's false because nobody " reassembles baby parts." First trimester abortions are done by aspiration (vacuum) into a container used for medical waste. Those contents are picked up by a contractor along with all medical waste products and incinerated off site. If she had a "baby hand on her lapel" she was doing something with those contents she had no business doing. Hate abortion all you want, but get the facts straight.

Who is this "Missy" Whack Job??? NO ONE needs to see this crap...what a horrible way to "attempt"to get your point across. I believe it will back fire in a really big way...I only hope so...who in the hell would want an idiot like this in congress??? Roe v Wade will never be overturned...nor should it, regardless of the horror freak show on TV...it is what it is. Maybe we should be concentrating on educating the hundreds of thousands of Welfare recipients and teenagers that use abortion as birth control and start policing the system that pays for these abortions so frivolously. Missy Smiths bid for congress should never happen...

You are wrong. Body parts were commonly reassembled after D&C (and D&E after 12 weeks). Google it. D&C is not often used now for first trimester abortions, but it was years ago when my friend was working in the clinic. They reassembled because of the risk of infection or heavy bleeding. I never said she was a good nurse - she was employed by an abortion clinic! She was doing her job the way it was done at the time. Regardless of how it is done, your end result is the same. My original point was that they make it sound so simple and that, I believe, is propaganda. One of the saddest things about abortion, besides the loss of the baby, is the effect it has on women when they later realize they were duped into thinking that a first trimester abortion is no big deal.

Those "graphic" photos are no worse than the horrific photos of the atrocities at Auschwitz. The truth is the truth, and these photos show the reality of abortion. It is murder.

It may be killing, but it's not murder. Don't compare it to Auschwitz.

Seems to me that she made poor choices, she got pregnant (sounds like more than once) and then got abortions. Doesn't sound like a very responsible adult to me. I saw that ads and I am totally repulsed by them. This woman is going for the shock factor, it's going to back fire. Even if people think what she is trying to accomplish is worthwhile, this should turn them off on her for good. I have 2 children and 4 grandchildren. My daughter who is currently pregnant saw this ad and her children just missed seeing it, they were walking in from school as it was airing. How horrifying! Some people think any publicity is good publicity, wrong! I believe in the "tell 2 friends" manner of getting the word out, if everyone tells just 2 friends about this, she won't have a prayer in H*LL!

I don't care where you stand on the abortion debate....

I simply don't want my child seeing graphic images and I don't appreciate them being flashed on the television without warning.

Holy crap!!!

I just saw this ad for the first time yesterday, during the 4 pm hour. TRULY UNBELIEVABLE that this is allowed to run on television. I'm literally shocked.

I haven't read the previous pages of posts, but does anyone know where you can write or call to protest/complain? Is this a matter for the FCC?

And yes, I know this ad may be considered political speech, which receives the highest protections under the First Amendment. But then again, my objections are not to her speech (language) -- my objections are to the images, which I believe are not considered speech for First Amendment purposes. Any First Amendment lawyers out there? Is this true?

I THINK SHE IS AN IGNORANT PERSON AND THEY SHOULD HAVE AN ADD WITH HER HEAD ON IT

There is no excuse for the ad .... which my kids saw by accident. This country was built on people doing what is right vs what they are told or what is easy. Where are those people?? Wouldn't you stand up and say "we should not air that at the dinner hour with a canned 5 second warning"??? Common sense folks.

I have written to these stations. It seems there are plenty of sheep these days.

Will someone pro-abortion explain me what makes you believe it's OK to kill an unborn fetus arguing there's no life and blah blah blah while Neonatologists, OB's and nurses work so hard to help moms with difficulty pregnancies to deliver their babies safely?
If it was no big deal can't they just let this baby die and try again later?

I just saw this ad for the first time. There was a warning before and because of this thread I decided to watch it. What the hell was I thinking?

First off, nobody is pro-abortion. They are pro-choice and there's a difference. Focus on the choice part, and you'll have your answer. Women who very much want their babies have every right to try and save them. Women who don't shouldn't be forced to carry to term. Either way, nobody thinks it's "no big deal." It's a huge deal, but one that must remain legal.

So why we don't get to keep the right to choose to kill the child after they're born?
