Yes, I saw it too and recoiled in horror. The thing about witnessing these horrific, disturbing pictures is that they stay in your mind's eye forever. There was a phone number posted to contact her office directly so NBC would not get flooded with outraged callers. I wish we could band together and do something about this assault to our senses.

WOW, I did not think abortion was so crude and ugly. I wish this ad was run more often so people could see the killing that is happening here in Washington.

There is no way to determine with absolute certainty the progression of a defect in an unborn child. There is also no way to determine when that medical silver bullet may be developed which would help that child. Whether you call it a "birth" (and I have heard people actually refer to this killing as "beautiful") or a gruesome late-term procedure which dismembers the baby - the end result is the same - a dead baby. There is no way to sugar-coat this and you are definitely not "pro-life" if you support this killing in any way!

All of you who are so "shocked" by the photos in the Missy Smith ad are just getting a dose of reality! Just google "late-term abortions" if you have the courage to face the reality of "Choice".

I love how you casually disregard what must have been an unimaginably painful decision for your "friends." How dare you! Did you offer to adopt and care for the child? I'm guessing you only offered your judgment. Yes, the inability to financially and emotionally care for a severely handicapped child (you didn't mention what the handicap was) is reasonable cause to have an abortion. Many, many children end up in nursing homes and state hospitals because the parents are not able to financially care for them. Also, as the PP mentioned, if a child is predetermined suffer for the duration of his/her very short life span, then the parents have the right to decide whether or not that child should be brought into this world, before the birth. Why should that child suffer to make you happy, you sick, twisted cow.

It's so funny how this "pro-choice" crowd gets worked up so easily.
Those are fake images, no abortion occurs like that unless you go to a 3rd world country where it's against the law and they have it done by a neighbor in the back yard. My friend had one done and I was there with her. They gave her a bunch of leaves to chew on, she drank some tea and the next day she was expelling the baby.
Other methods include the insertion of electric cables or household items to irritate the cervix/break the bag of waters and cause premature birth.
That being said, I wonder what kind of person can live thinking a baby is not a person. You spend a lot of money before the baby is born, you love it to pieces even before you hold him/her in your arms. The baby can even survive if born before the 38 weeks of gestation are over!
There's no question in my mind that those little souls must be really disturbed by the fact they were not allowed to have a chance to be born.
