There are only 2 doctors in the country that perform 3rd trimester, late term abortioins, there were 3 until the doctor in Kansas was killed. Neither of these doctors stab the skull. They inject something that causes a heart attack. I'm not saying that it is right or anything, I am just saying that the doctors who do it "above board" and not in a dark alley (where all abortions would be if illegal), don't do as you describe. I am pro-choice (obviously), but would have an abortion myself. I do not judge those who do though because I have not walked in their shoes. It is up to God to judge, not I, or you. |
| I was the PP above. I'm sorry for all the typos. Due to the size of the text I Quoted, my computer wouldn't show a full screen and I ended up typing "blindly". Anyway, I meant to say that while I am pro choice, I would NOT have an abortion. But I don't judge those who do. It is up to God to judge, not I. |

a quick question for the women who believe there's nothing wrong with abortions:
why are those health care providers working so hard in every single NICU in this country? aren't this early babies the same as the ones killed inside their mother's wombs? why some deserve to live and some don't? |
Go sell your crazy somewhere else, this is DC. |
As are a much larger percentage of pro-lifers than pro-choicers. |
23:53 here. Don't get me wrong. I'm totally pro-choice even though I wouldn't choose it for myself. I just want to understand the thought process on people who think abortions are OK. |
Please. Either you are just completely misinformed or you are deliberately lying. He didn't vote "yes" on a bill that would have banned late-term abortion. That's true. But he doesn't "strongly support" the procedure itself. He was against certain language in the bill that he thought would further erode a woman's right to choose. There's a huge difference in intent there. |
10/23/2010 13:20 here. I take offensive in what you just said. Just because I said I was shocked doesn't mean I don't know what is going on, what a late term abortion is, or that I don't understand the reality of the situation. Just because someone is shocked to see that on TV doesn't mean they are pro choice, pro life, or whatever. It WAS shocking to see that on TV. I have a small child and would never want him to see that at 4:00 in the afternoon. It is a shocking ad, that is the point, to shock you. But I feel it is unnecessary and poor political tactics. Just because someone is "shocked" by a grotesque ad shown on daytime tv, doesn't mean they are naive or ignorant on the subject at hand. |
Maybe women entering abortion clinics should have a chance to hear too from someone who has made the same choice and has NO regrets. Like me. It was the best decision for me at the time, and seven years and 2 kids later, I can see it was also the best decision for me long-term. Anyone who considers or has an abortion goes into it with her eyes closed. It is a terrible position to have to be in, but I am so glad that it is safe and legal in this country. |

PP, I assume you mean eyes open?
And to the PP who says women should have the "chance" to hear from a woman who has had an abortion and regretted it - that "chance" is readily available should the woman contemplating abortion choose to seek it out. It's not like all of the regretful women are locked away in a cave with muzzles on. It's not a "chance" to hear from a woman if the woman is standing outside a clinic shouting at you. |
The vast, vast majority of abortions are performed during the first trimester, and you're not going to find any baby younger than 22 weeks gestational age in a NICU. In the case of late-term abortions, while it's theoretically legal to terminate for any reason, in fact the two living doctors in this country who specialize in late-term abortions won't do it for any reason other than the life/health of the mother or fetal defects that are incompatible with life. I'll also note that NICUs are not just for premature babies. My son was born at 41 weeks and then spent a week in the NICU. |
I don't think she cares if the mother dies. |
Not the pp, bit if it is the third trimester and the mother is in danger, wouldn't it be just as fast/safe to deliver the child alive? |

I wish to forgive those who naively think there is never a need for an abortion. There are some circumstances where an abortion is not a choice, it is simply a means of hastening the end of a pregnancy that is going to end anyway. When you are told your unborn child has a condition incompatible with life, and there is not a darn thing you can do about it, you make choices you never thought you were going to make.
If the candidate, and self proclaimed anti abortion counselor, had even come near me on the day I had to end a much wanted pregnancy back in June, she would have had some counseling from me, and she would have been lucky if I had not taken all my rage at having to give up my child out on her face. However, I find it disgusting that this zealot abuses the obligation of the media to run her political ad to show what I am told is shown there. May George Tiller rest in peace for the service he provided women like me in our darkest, most desperate hours. |
This is such a good point. The fact is there are some people out there who are so, so afraid of going to hell that they would do anything to avoid it, including carrying a child who should never be carried to term (as in your condition) to term. I have actually had someone tell me that, they would do anything to avoid an abortion to avoid themselves going to hell. Clearly they are not thinking of the hell they are putting their own child through. To me that is the most selfish thing on earth. It is based on fear and ignorance. These are the same sick people harassing the parents and families of dead military men and women and blaming it on the idea that God is angry at us for homosexuality. The same ignorance and fear. And by the way, if someone is harassing women outside of an abortion clinic, as far as I'm concerned they are already in hell, because they are scared, bitter, miserable people. |
