This is so sad to read but I think you're right, PP. |
I never said that? I said she’s meeting her own basic needs of food, clothing, and shelter and earning income. She’s making very poor choices, but it takes a lot more than making very poor choices and having a mental illness to get put in a conservatorship. Again, the standard in CA is gravely disabled, unable to meet basic needs, and less restrictive alternatives failed. |
PP here. I do understand. We have ASD, extreme anxuery, and schizophrenia on my dad's side over multiple generations. He and my mom were wonderful parents. My siblings abd I didn't know about it growing up either but learned of some male relatives with those issues, despite their high intelligence. Too many people have no understanding of the impact. |
Yet California has so many homeless individuals. The laws are too restrictive for peoole to get help for mentally ill family members. . |
Spending your money on meth isn’t what most would call “fun.” |
Zero credible evidence she's on meth. But blowing your money on drugs doesn't justify conservatorship under the law anyway. Once again, consider retired professional athletes. Should a substantial portion of them be in conservatorships for making idiotic financial decisions and having addictions? |
Certainly those that have clear CTE damage engaging in bizarre behavior should be, yes. |

I wasn’t surprised at all.
I am actually kinda shocked that this waited to happen at 44!! Poor Britney. I recall when she was younger how she seemingly had it all. I.e., youth, beauty, fame, fortune, a seemingly loving family, a heartthrob boyfriend ➕ a slew of fans. Time has not been very kind to her. I hope she has someone in her family who can look out for her for the rest of her life because things will likely only get worse as she gets older. |
I have to agree with this sad sentiment. Her parents sadly seem incapable of loving her properly. |
DP. Plenty of male celebrities who have rumored to use drugs and wasted money that haven’t been forced into conservatorships. Chris Brown, Justin Beiber, Kanye west etc |
She was already rich before the conservatorship. And you could also argue that part of her mental state now is probably due to the conservatorship itself and basically becoming a slave with control over her own choices. Notice Amanda Bynes parents didn’t have her working away during her conservatorship. |
Why do posters keep arguing that because plenty of x, y and z male celebrities/athletes do this then she can do it? Is there a troll who is just hell bent on arguing that she should never be under a conservatorship bc homeless people exist/ NFL players get DUIs/ Kanye West is bipolar/ Chris Brown (huh?)/male celebrities waste money…… |
Because people keep saying she should be under conservativorship because X and then others respond to explain those things have been done by many other celebrities and do not come close to the legal standard for conservativorship. |
As a younger person, she did not walk into studios on her own and sign contracts without oversight. She did not drive herself to rehearsals and performances. |
And? Look at their messed up lives. |
