You can't even spell conservatorship. And no, most mentally ill people do not require one, especially one run by grifting relatives who think she's too ill to make her own decisions about her choice of birth control, but not ill enough to perform publicly for millions of dollars per night.

Further, the fact that she voluntarily is seeking help is a good sign and negates the need for a conservatorship.

Oh, great! She's 44 now and has continued to act irresponsibly. Glad someone (her sons?) got through to her before she killed someone with her reckless driving.

Look reckless driving sucks. I would like a few more details about the incident because repots show her blood alcohol level was technically below the legal limit, but it’s likely she had prescription drugs in her system and is/was abusing them.

But unfortunately, millions and millions of people do this every year and some repeatedly and we don’t put them in a conservatorship. It might be that she needs a conservatorship again, but at this stage, she’s voluntarily getting help which is a good sign. That’s all I’m saying.

PP here. I get what you're saying and agree for the most part. There's just something "off" with her that indicates longtime mental illness. Her family history suggests inherited mental health issues combined with a low average IQ.

It also might have to do with the fact that she had a very normal reaction to her kids literally being wrenched from her.

I don’t think she has low IQ. I think her family is trash and I think she has some underlying mental health issues. But if my little kids were taken away from me, I’d go batsh$t as well and you probably would too. There are very real mental health implications for constantly having the relationship and access to your children threatened. To act as if that didn’t play a role in the last 15 years of Britney‘s life is crazy to me. They dangled those kids in front of her like carrots and used it for their advantage. She was often bribed to work and do things for monetary gain so she would have access to her kids.

And her kids will see this if they have Google. There are pictures of her son screaming as he’s being plied away from her. Now no one is saying he shouldn’t have been taken away from her given the way Britney was acting. But they didn’t get her the help she needed to deal with what is probably the worst psychological thing a mother can go through which is forced separation from her child.

PP here. I don't disagree with you. Just to clarify, I don't mean a really low IQ but possibly Low Average, which can affect her decision-making skills (like the way she drove and handled her sons when they were little). Plenty of lower average folks are great athletes and dancers.

Maybe. But I feel like it also could be how she was raised. Being a child star means she never really had to practice a lot of decision-making that most people have to make as they get through life. Everything was kind of decided for her and taken care of for her.

I just never got the sense from hearing her talk even though she has a very country and simple way about her that she was lower than average IQ. If you actually watch some of her interviews, she makes some pretty compelling observations early on about what she is going through.

PP here. You make some good points. Maybe so. Of course, all truly sad.

+1
This woman was exploited from childhood on, she had limited education and was surrounded by grifters. Whether she would have had mental health issues growing up in a different setting we don’t know. I feel confident in saying that if she had received proper help including supporting a healthy relationship with her sons the outcome would have been very different.
