Yep the cult of stupidity

Our men and women are going to die. MAGA has blood on their hands.
Nah, not a threat. Ever seen the power of a wing of F18? A Tomahawk missile?

You're so stupid. Do people like you plan on letting all the Chavistas into America? Because they're surely not going to lie down when an American puppet leader is going to be installed. Yeah it might be Machado, or it might be the old dude that was her proxy in the election. But whoever it is will be seen as illegitimate by many because of how they assumed power. And what about the military that was loyal to Chávez and Maduro?

So, again - zero about the U.S. actually *invading* Venezuela. Thanks.

How else would Trump accomplish his list of goals?

This is an economic war. Trump wants regime change in Venezuela - he wants to force Maduro out. Ordering a complete blockade of all Venezuela's sanctioned oil tankers accomplishes this. He is trying to cripple the country's economy. You don't need boots on the ground to do this, and he has never threatened to send our military into the country.

He has been talking about attacking on land instead of boats for weeks.

The US won't invade Venezuela. The country is bigger than Iraq. And its geography is very favorable to defenders and insurgents and rebels and cartels and so on. It would take hundreds of thousands of troops to pacify Venezuela. And it'd be awful, like all these stupid, ill-informed adventures are - from Vietnam to Iraq.

But we can absolutely cripple the country by other means. In principle, I don't have a problem boarding and confiscating the "shadow fleet," the ghost ships that Russia and others use to evade international sanctions. That is within international law. But America's purpose is not pure. It's old-time 19th Century imperialism. The US wants Venezuela's oil. Trump thinks he's Genghis Khan. And South America is his. He wants his tribute and the revenue and wealth. He feels it's owed to him. Putin gets Ukraine. Xi gets Taiwan. Trump wants to be a big boy in his sphere of influence to show he's just as "tough" as Putin and Xi. And he's settled on Venezuela.

It's all very pathetic. The result from this course of action will be that all of South America - including their right wingers - will regard the United States as the enemy. And that will last for generations. We are the baddies. And that will have consequences for years.

The administration has admitted that’s not the case.

Anonymous wrote:Well now Venezuela's Navy is escorting oil tankers, so either Trump is going to have to order the US Navy to use force or let them run his blockade and look like a weak fool.
They have about 24 boats total including 2 subs. All foreign made. Probably take a week or so to eliminate them and create man made reefs with our superior American firepower and technology. Don't fret.

There are between 300,000 -500,000 AK-103 assault rifle in Venezuela. Chavez gave out over 100k to arm his “people” with ammunition to match. Since there’s been a steady stream given to ten right people.

No fentanyl comes from Venezuela. It comes from China to Mexico and then here.

Who is going to enforce the blockade in an “economic war”? Economists?

DP. Venezuelans WANT Maduro ousted. Machado is their hero(ine). If the U.S. succeeds in toppling the Maduro dictatorship, we certainly won't be their enemy.
