Dude seriously, Wmata does care, why do you think they’ve been upgrading all the fare gates?

Dude, I see people jumping those every single day. I'm not confronting anyone over a $2 fare. That's WMATA's job.
Fare evasion is down since the gate improvements. People who really want to will find a way. I use the metro. It pisses me off too but l know better than to confront potentially violent people. Not victim blaming here but warning others be smart and stay out of their way. Same as in the street. When l wax younger a young teen threatened me for “staring” at him in a McDonald’s. I wasn’t but he was making out with his girlfriend in the restaurant and l was looking for a seat and quickly moved away. Things like this over the years have made me cautious about protecting myself.

Has anyone submitted a tip to national news sites?

And doesn't that imply that they were chasing him from before and he tried to use the gates to get away?

Did you even read the story? He went through then waited for the gates to close. Then they evaded paying and chased him to the tracks. Animals.

Do they have video?
I'm assuming they know that the women are fare evaders because of video or witnesses?

Why are you afraid of the link? I don't understand...

I watched the link elsewhere and wish I had not. DP.

Potomac Yards used to be quite safe.

RIP, he must have been so scared.

This article only had still photos where is the video news link?

They really are. You have to wonder what was going through their minds. “How dare this random person stop me from cheating my way into the train. He must pay for this. I must bash his skull in”.

Animals.

Why were the girls chasing him?

Anonymous wrote:The assailants were both teenage girls (one 17, one 18). The attack happened during the school day.

I wonder how many people in DC have been harassed by teenagers in or around DC? I have. I was fortunate in that it happened in a busy neighborhood during evening rush hour -- I started yelling and the girls dispersed because there were people nearby. But if there hadn't been anyone around, I do wonder what would have happened. They were demanding my cell phone. I was 8 months pregnant at the time.

Something is wrong with these kids.

They have ID the girls however, "The teens have not been arrested and are being investigated for assault and battery charges, according to the search warrant affidavit." Assault and battery instead of murder or even manslaughter? This is *exactly* how the city of Alexandria is dumbing down the crime statistics. This and letting them off completely with all their open and "unsolved" crimes.

I remember when Alexandria let Ibrahim E. Bouaichi out of jail for breaking into a girls apartment in the city of Alexandria and raping her. He leaves jail and immediately goes and kills his accuser.

This city, the city council, the police and the poor mismanagement of everything in this city cause pretty much all of their own problems.

I did read the article and I still don’t understand.

He ran to the metro station to get away from them and they jumped the turnstile, but why were they chasing him in the first place?

People on this thread seem to think they were chasing him because he said something to them about jumping the fare. But they were chasing him before they jumped the fare.

Last month there was knife fight in Minnie Howard

Last week there was a mob assault in Arlandria as “retaliation” for being disrespected.

That crazy guy assaulted/beat up 2 woman in June (one at Potomac Yard metro, one outside of Braddock).

There was a man finally arrested for flashing and masterbating in public in Del Ray and Rosemont.

There was a brothel on West Street.

Several shoot outs in Arlandria this summer.

Some guy got mad over a Tik Tok, drove up here from PWC to shoot someone in Alexandria.

yeah, nothing to see here.

But putting people in prison does not work. We need to provide people with the wrap-around services they truly deserve.

I have absolutely no problem with wrap-around services (heck - start them from time of conception!) but I am not naive enough to not realize there are some parents who are so far gone that no wrap-around service will be enough to truly counter the negative parenting job they are doing on their kids. (Except if the wrap-around service is to take kids from those parents and put them in a home of some sort?) Sadly, there will always be some people who the wrap-around services won't be able to reach. Like these two girls and their families (parents, any siblings).

What do you do with those people then? Can they really be part of society?

Please PP! You need to just stop with your MAGA-supremacist BS

There is no information re whether the women (they're not kids) were chasing the man before he entered the Potomac Yard metro station or whether the first interaction between him and them was at the turnstile. That is not in the article so you're just making that up. It is possible they were chasing him before (but from where? Target, Giant?).

"But they were chasing him before they jumped the fare."

Where is that being reported?
