This was referenced earlier in the thread. Very famously, the Swedes did a massive nationwide cohort study with sibling control analysis included a population-based sample of about 2.5 million children born in 1995 to 2019 in Sweden, with follow-up through December 31, 2021.
It is well known in the literature. Anyone who has looked into the question at even a superficial level knows about it; there is no way RFKJ is not being disingenuous. |
I don't think they own Tylenol. johnson & Johnson used to own it, but they recently spun off their consumer division as separate company named "Kenvue." I'll bet J&J is glad they did now. |
| Anyone know whether Kenvue donated more to the Trump campaign or the Harris campaign? If it's the former, this is hilariously poetic justice for Big Pharma. |
| It looks like Wall Street knew this was coming a couple of weeks ago, so Kenvue's stock already took a 10-15 percent hit. |
| I think pregnant women took way more Tylenol in the past than they have in recent years. If Tylenol is the cause of Autism, wouldn't we expect Autism rates to have actually declined? |

The best research out there does not support a link. RFKJ knows this. The new ACIP committee members probably know this, if they read anything at all.
You have a giant *prospective cohort* study of 2.5 million children that does not support concern for Acetaminophen causing autism. You have a meta-analysis of the literature in the preeminent obstetric medical journal that does not support this, and which looks back on the confounding factors which improperly skewed any studies that thought supported it. You either have a bunch of idiots literally dumber than your average high school student writing a report for Biology class, or you have a deliberate lie. Which is it? |
| This is causing material damage to Kenvue...at what point will they due? This is not protected speech. |
This is the question. Everything in this administration is a shake down and grift. |
| Is it ok for me to ask my MAGA sister in law with a Asperger’s son whether she took Tylenol during her pregnancy? |
Depends on whether you want to make a point or spare at least a few of her feelings. |
Everyone did. This was already in the news. Tylenol and Folate. |
|
Of note, that giant prospective cohort Swedish study followed some children for 29 years (the ones enrolled in 1995). The latest enrollees in 2016 were followed for 8 years. It's pretty damning for the hypothesis that Acetaminophen use in pregnancy causes autism. It just doesn't. |

The Trump administration will promote another drug, leucovorin, as a potential autism treatment. Leucovorin, a generic medication made by several manufacturers, is typically used in cancer treatment to counter the harmful side effects of other drugs.
So now, let's check the stock price of the maker of this drug. How much do we want to bet the Oligarchs invested in this a month ago? |
It's grift, pure and simple. For people who want to be true believers, part of the problem is that autism is so sticky. It's really hard to hide lack of significant change. Leucovorin may well work for a very small percentage of children diagnosed with autism who have a particular genetic defect, but it's not going to do anything for the majority. Of course, we are in KoolAid times, so who knows if that will ever be acknowledged. The money will have already been made, anyway, profiteering on the backs of struggling children and the desperate families who love them. At this point, it's like having a ringside seat in the biggest clownshow on Earth. I hate this timeline. |
