The Dress that swept Capitol Hill - Tuckernuck Jackie

It's so boxy and shapeless. Do they know that most brands use clips and pins to make the dress look good on the tiny model?

I’m 5’11” and a size 16 with hips and inch smaller than my bust, and actually if it looks shapeless on a model it’s a good bet for me.

I’ve figured out over time that when it comes to dresses, I’m bringing all the shape that is needed I guess. I have plenty of shape. Too much shape. My shape runneth over. I just need a sack in a thick fabric that I can wear in the meeting without anything spilling out.

Pp who is 5’11”, obviously I can’t shop at Tuckernuck. I’m not mad, tall girls are definitely outside of their sizing. It’s just not a store with clothes for me.

For similar “sack” type work dresses that I can wear, I think it does help to pay a little more. Halsbrook is great for finding brands. But also the Jcrew, Gap/banana, Abercrombie, ann taylor universe often has Tall sizes.

When I saw the Washington post article I knew there was going to be a dcum thread about it. It was so funny to me how contemptuous the owners of Tuckernuck were about the Amazon dupe when their dress is also a cheap polyester sack. I can’t believe people pay that much for this ugly shapeless dress!

Ok, well it looks nice in this picture because the model is thin and leggy. It is not a flattering dress on most women.

I'm tall and leggy and I don't think I could pull this dress off (especially not for work). First it looks like it would be too short. I also try to avoid dresses that have a wider shape because when you're thin it just looks like the fit is off. I'm not sure how to explain it, but it feels like a toddler dress? I don't think my clothes need to be tight, but something like this would make me look like a block with skinny arms and legs. I need a defined waist.
Anyway, it doesn't seem to flatter most women. The reviews show it in "real life" and I don't think anyone looks horrible but it's just not the most flattering: https://tnuck.com/products/coastal-blue-striped-jackie-dress

I agree. Though this woman actually looks really cute in it and I love the pale blue paired with red shoes:

I don't think she looks bad, but I think the dress is wearing her.

The color combo is great but the dress is Ill fitting and unflattering and the purse is too long and her hair is pulling the whole look down too. Everything looks heavy.

Fitted sheath in the same color with a smaller clutch and it would work for me.

The Tuckernuck dress is also a knockoff. But I guess at their prices they prefer to say "Chanel inspired" rather than "knockoff Chanel." Pretty ballsy of them.

This picture is the epitome of basic b-tch. Same dress that everyone is wearing in your new build with fake grey floors, grey paint and white washed grey furniture. It’s like a caricature!!

I was just thinking the same about the house. No real style.

When I see photos with interiors like this I always assume they are in an AirBnB. Do people actually "decorate" their own homes this way? It's soooooo bland.

Just search "Jackie dress"

It’s too short. It would have to be a large size to cover a big bust and then it tents over the boobs and hangs like Large Marge.

I have bought shirts, sweaters and pants from Tuckernuck but their dresses are either kind of like big bags and way too short or voluminous and too long. I would wear this dress if it were a bit more fitted and hit at or right below the knee. It's too wide and short and I don't know how you could sit without it riding way up your thighs.

Tuckernuck is for short, thin women who love ruffles and bows and hate waists. Which is great, I'm glad they have a store. Everyone should get to wear what they want.

It seriously looks like they found the supplier for Tuckernuck.

I wonder why tuckernuck doesn’t go after them? Could it be that tuckernuck also rips people off and that would likely come to light (more than it already is) if they sued?

The fabric is very thick but not nice. I tried it last year and did not like it.
