The Dress that swept Capitol Hill - Tuckernuck Jackie

Not sure why everyone is shocked republican women are buying the dress. Go look at any of the women who work for Tuckernuck on instagram, half the time they are liking posts from Candace Owens and Allie Beth Stuckey from the very same accounts where their bios state “Tuckernuck employee”

Dang. For real? I don't really subscribe to boycotting things in general, but that's definitely not going to make me want to buy Tuckernuck.

I am not going to post their employees' names because at the end of the day, they are private citizens with a right to like whatever they want on instagram. (Just like I have the right to think it's dumb to like those things from your professional instagram account.)

But if you can find their employees on instagram, it is very easy to confirm that about half of these women follow MAGA accounts and frequently like posts from those accounts.

I'm 5'7 and 125 lbs and it's absolutely horrible. I'm hourglass and get dresses from St John and tailor them to be more fitting.

Do you think the average woman is paying $800 for a basic LBD?

+1 What was the purpose of your post except to brag?

OP here. I get mine on the real real for under $150.

I love the idea of the real real but I am just not confident enough in my sizing to order from someplace like that. I am anywhere from a size 2 to a size 12 depending on the brand and the cut. I could maybe do it with blouses, where I tend to be a more predictable 2-6, and could probably figure it out from reviews of the brand...but pants and dresses are just a total wildcard for me.

I tend to stick with brands that I bought before and know the sizing well. When in doubt, order things that are returnable. Pants are impossible to order online IMO.

Not sure why some of you are claiming only Republican women have worn this dress. From the article:

While Votta and Madeline Grayson, another co-founder, said that their biggest markets are in New York and Texas, the dress has become a common sight on the streets of D.C., especially on Capitol Hill. (D.C. is in Tuckernuck’s Top 10 markets.) A Fox News anchor, first ladies and members of Alpha Kappa Alpha, the historically Black sorority to which Vice President Harris belongs, have all worn the Jackie.

Ok, well it looks nice in this picture because the model is thin and leggy. It is not a flattering dress on most women.

I'm tall and leggy and I don't think I could pull this dress off (especially not for work). First it looks like it would be too short. I also try to avoid dresses that have a wider shape because when you're thin it just looks like the fit is off. I'm not sure how to explain it, but it feels like a toddler dress? I don't think my clothes need to be tight, but something like this would make me look like a block with skinny arms and legs. I need a defined waist.
Anyway, it doesn't seem to flatter most women. The reviews show it in "real life" and I don't think anyone looks horrible but it's just not the most flattering: https://tnuck.com/products/coastal-blue-striped-jackie-dress

I agree. Though this woman actually looks really cute in it and I love the pale blue paired with red shoes:

Not for the WaPo, nope. I already pay for the WSJ.

Anonymous wrote:If it's so ubiquitous why couldn't they get better photos of women actually wearing it? The second photo with the hill staffer and the dog it's just an ill-fitting bunched up mess--too tight across the bust and her hips. I don't get the impression that it'll look any better when that poor girls stands up and pulls it down over her butt.

This and I’m sorry but the first girl at the RNC wearing it with running shoes and an Apple Watch. They should’ve gotten pics of a girl wearing it with nice flats with good accessories and a bag

DP. Pretty sure that was just during the RNC set-up and she was on her feet all day, so wore sneakers. No doubt she changed later.

I like the concept - I love a shift dress - but the execution is horrible. While I don’t hate the braided neckline, the fake pockets are stupid, the sleeves are an awkward length, and it’s way too short for any professional environment. Add in the ridiculous price for polyester, and there’s no way I’m going anywhere near it.

I told you. I followed some of their employees because they were posting outfit ideas trying to become influencers. I thought they had good style and enjoyed following them. Then the deluge of Candace owens and DJT Jr. Posts in my explore tab because a bunch of them liked those posts.

It’s not like I looked each tuckernuck employee up and went through their following tab.

This is incredibly unflattering. I don't understand the point of this outfit, it's so infantile. Angela Ahrendts is a great dresser, I'd use her for inspiration.

Because the dress is ugly, but it would not be politically correct to say that Harris was wearing an ugly dress.

This picture is the epitome of basic b-tch. Same dress that everyone is wearing in your new build with fake grey floors, grey paint and white washed grey furniture. It’s like a caricature!!

I don't think she looks bad, but I think the dress is wearing her.
