Early in my relationship with my now DH I had trouble shaking my ex who I broke up with for now DH, and we hooked up a few times. Now at 30 years together and married for 25+ I have never cheated again.

Yeah, but your husband has probably continued cheating the whole time. And you haven’t had a chance in at least 15 years.

What a strangely hostile, not to mention juvenile, comment.

It’s a spot on comment, not strangely hostile or juvenile. The type of man who won’t “notice” or will “ignore” his new girlfriend not “shaking her ex” is the sort of guy who is cheating on her. A monogamous guy will notice something is off and will be suspicious and “controlling.”

I knew a woman in college who claimed to feel guilty about cheating on her, in her words “dorky” and prior to her “virginal” boyfriend. Meanwhile he was such a slut. A dork, yes, but a lecherous one. They’ve been married for 20 years. He’s never been faithful. Never. That’s why they work. He overlooked her indiscretions because he was and is full of his own.

It’s remarkable how delusion so many people can be about who they and their partners are.

OP will be much better off with a different woman. It’ll never work with this one.
