Are you speaking for Jesus? You are saying Jesus didn’t think the least among us were unborn human babies? Because you know Jesus had the opinion that unborn babies weren’t viable so He didn’t include them as being worthy of love. God creates us, we are loved by God. New International Version “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” New Living Translation “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.” English Standard Version “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” Berean Standard Bible “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” King James Bible Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. New King James Version “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” New American Standard Bible “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” NASB 1995 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.” NASB 1977 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.” Legacy Standard Bible “Before I formed you in the innermost parts I knew you, And before you came out from the womb I set you apart; I have given you as a prophet to the nations.” Amplified Bible “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you [and approved of you as My chosen instrument], And before you were born I consecrated you [to Myself as My own]; I have appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Christian Standard Bible I chose you before I formed you in the womb; I set you apart before you were born. I appointed you a prophet to the nations. Holman Christian Standard Bible I chose you before I formed you in the womb; I set you apart before you were born. I appointed you a prophet to the nations. Luckily we are not a theocracy. Keep your religion out of our laws. Also did it ever occur to you to wonder why any god would let more than half of fertilized eggs naturally die off before they gestate into babies if that god saw them as something sacred? If you believe there’s a soul and a real human being from the moment of fertilization that means the afterlife is going to be filled with more souls who never experienced the earth than those who did. Weird. But then again maybe that’s the preferred shortcut to get to eternity. Why suffer on this earth when you can immediately party with Jesus. Maybe spend your token figuring out those quandaries and leave the rest of us alone. |

I was replying to the pp who stated Jesus was the original social justice warrior. They believe that Jesus was concerned with humanity. You don’t believe that, so you don’t like the posts we have made. Unfortunately for you, we live in the United States. We have freedom of both speech and religion here. My freedom of speech and religion is not something that I must suppress or restrict because you don’t agree with me. Every American has the same freedom of speech and religion, even elected officials. Even judges. Like many other Americans, judges can have deep-seated religious convictions. All humans have a system of ethics. All humans have a conscience. Their religious and moral compass is a part of who they are. It would be discriminatory to not allow a religious person to be a judge. All judges have personal values and morals that affect their decisions, you just don’t like the judges who are religious. |

LOL those are still all translations of something that isn’t even the original document. And going back to the oldest remaining copies, there are two different versions of the book from which that is taken. From Wikipedia:

You just chat away as much as you like. I also have freedom of speech (which is a term relating to the government regulating speech not private citizens in case you weren’t familiar with that concept). Just keep your religious beliefs out of our laws and we’ll all be fine. Don’t make laws that justify themselves based on biblical verse. And notice you didn’t address why your god kills off more embryos than abortion does. Is that that she’s just too eager to see those little souls up in heaven? Anyway if god thinks it’s okay to end those embryos potential to become fully grown humans then I’m not going to worry about women deciding they don’t want to gestate them. |

						De Facto:
In fact or in practice; in actual use or existence, regardless of official or legal status. Except for a couple of posts, this entire thread is missing the point. It’s not about the number of Catholics or how Evangelicals feel about Catholics. |

So Latin American immigrants don’t count to you? Got it. |

Can you imagine hiring a lawyer who advised you based on God's law and not the law that you would one day be facing in court? A doctor who did not believe in blood transfusions because they are a Jehovah's witness? We have a constitution. No matter what one's religion, judges are to use the principles of constitutional law to decide cases, not religious beliefs. If they can't do that, separating their beliefs from the law, they aren't qualified as judges. |

Of course. The constitution neither guarantees the right to abortion nor forbids it. It is up to society and voters to decide. |

For forty years the Supreme Court found otherwise. Then suddenly with a supermajority of Catholics added to overturn Roe, the court changed its mind. |

A reading of that part of the Book of Jeremiah would suggest that God said Jeremiah was a person even before conception. But nobody has ever used that as a core part of belief. Jeremiah is Old Testament, even the Jews do not believe in this, instead they believe you become a life when you take your first breath. |

Political officials are allowed to have religious convictions. But they are not allowed to impose their religious convictions onto others. |

The PP you responded to is obviously another Christian Nationalist maga. |

The voters have spoken via their elected officials. If they don’t like it, they can elect people who nominate different judges. Courts change their mind all of the time. Are you suggesting that just because something was one way for 40 years it shouldn’t ever be changed? |

The issue is *why* it changed. Stacking the court with Catholics, religiously compelled to accept that abortion is a mortal sin, are going to reach the conclusion they did regardless of the constitution. |
