Catholicism has become official US Religion

It’s becoming obvious that Roman Catholicism is becoming the de facto United States Religion. Protestants seeking freedom from persecution fled to America and we were founded on that desire to live free from mandated religion.

It seems to me that Evangelicals got into bed with Catholics over the pro-life issue. However, they did not fully understand the Catholic view of life begins at conception.

They needed the Catholics to win. Catholics value education and intellectual precision…whether or not you agree with their conclusions is a different issue.

The Catholic carefully laid the groundwork. They had the education, professional networks , and the family ties to become supremely influential. Collectively they valued becoming judges, politicians or political influencers.

Look at the Supreme Court 5 of 7 are Catholic, or raised Catholic:

John Roberts, Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Sonia Sotomayor, Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett -- are Catholic. Neil Gorsuch is Episcopalian but raised Catholic. Elena Kagan is Jewish.

I haven’t even gotten into the religion of all of the political operatives helping Trump. Kelleyanne Conway is still integral to name one.

It’s not hard to see that if Trump gets reelected, we should probably consider the Untied States may become officially Catholic in several years.

It will never become officially catholic. however even joe biden is catholic. I think it is because no other group in the US still has the culture of service.

They have already told us when you can or cannot have a baby. They are planning to roll back contraception, gay marriage, transgender rights. Why wouldn’t they decide the state religion?

Yes, Joe Biden is Catholic. So is Nancy Pelosi. Pointing out moderate Catholics does not change who the Supreme Court is.

Yes, it’s service-orientation which is driven home in Catholic education but for a clear purpose. Services alone won’t do it. It is the educational credentials that make the difference in how powerful they can become.

I’d argue Queerness is now. There’s a flag on state buildings and in school classrooms. Parades and a month of celebrations. The Catholics only wish they held the same kind of sway in our government.

Stop fear mongering for votes. Biden and others are a Catholic. Catholics are not easily pigeonholed as red or blue. This is not news here.

IVF issues are tipping the scales more toward Biden. If he actually does something about the border and crime, he can secure a victory. No one is picking someone with huge debts he cannot pay. That’s a dagger in the heart of his campaign.

Still having a hard time seeing either Trump or Biden making it to November whether they are nominated or not. It’s really Harris vs whoever Trump picks.

Every religion and just about every school in the country develops "a culture of service" - the Catholics are hardly unique in this.

Crime is riding lows nationally. It is just DC that it is particularly bad.

Freedom of religion is enshrined in the constitution. Trump himself identifies as a non-denominational Christian.
