Weird because you obviously never played at any point. This is common.

I’ve played and I’ve never heard of this. Usually there is a designated taker or group of takers regardless of who wins the pk.

It's been around forever and is an old German superstition. Less common now than a generation ago, but it's still pretty prevalent and even if not followed, pretty well known, so not surprised your DD's coach would say it.

Don’t have a DD. DS plays competitive soccer and his coach doesn’t do this. Just said I never heard of this. Maybe bc I’m not German.

DP. I'm not German and I've heard this line of thinking regarding taking penalty kicks.

lol. This is the biggest piece of bs I’ve ever heard of. If you win a pk you can’t take the kick bc your heart rate is too high. Who are you people? This is ridiculous.

I’m in my 50s. Played in college and on all my youth and HS teams, it was the player that was fouled that got to take the penalty kick.

Big changes at Brave. MV is out, too many complaints from all age groups. VK and LO to get real opportunities to coach at u16 and below. For this age group, LO to coach next season. Should be well received.

Not saying I agree with it, just saying I've heard it. It's okay that you haven't, no need to get bent out of shape.

I'll add, the rationale my coach at the time used had less to do with heart rate and more to do with the mental headspace of the player who had been fouled in the moments after being fouled.

Whaaaa? Can anyone post an email?

VK is very good. My understanding was that LO was the reason so many 09s left last season, not MV. Maybe that was wrong.

I’ll be curious to see where MV winds up.

None of them can do it. They’re a laughing stock in ECNL. If your daughter wants to be recruited, go elsewhere.

OMG are you serious about LO? SHE was the main reason why the team dismantled!!!

You are correct. LO was the main reason players left but MV was also part of the problem too. It really was unfortunate because last year’s team had the talent just not the direction. Now all are on teams where they actually get development, communication, and actually happy to be playing!

MW is available and desperate to be back in ECNL. They should bring him back.

BRAVE coaches might not be very good they’re good people. MW is not.
