Whaaaa? Can anyone post an email?

VK is very good. My understanding was that LO was the reason so many 09s left last season, not MV. Maybe that was wrong.

I’ll be curious to see where MV winds up.

You are correct. LO was the main reason players left but MV was also part of the problem too. It really was unfortunate because last year’s team had the talent just not the direction. Now all are on teams where they actually get development, communication, and actually happy to be playing!

Isn’t the OP complaining about a lack of direction, development and communication? So maybe this is just how the coaches run their teams. If they coach other age groups, are these age groups facing similar issues?

Yes, the OP is complaining about that as did my post so what are you not getting? Sounds like a broken record of making excuses for whatever “style” of coaching is going on over there. Don’t no what’s going on with the other age groups and quite frankly, don’t care.

This would be big for Brave if it was true. Source?

Agreed. Huge upgrade and it would be well received by players and parents. It seems the brave administration knows what they are doing. Not on 09g but I can understand why they are unhappy.

It’s only an upgrade if the new director is better. Brave has a small staff and MV does a lot. They would need to replace him with one or more good and competent people. That could be possible but it’s not an upgrade until you know what the staff is next year.

I’m curious if this impacts all age groups. How they play and if they develop players is important to me as I have a younger DD entering ecnl ages next year. Would appreciate insights from others at the club.

Please don’t consider this thread for info… most is entertaining crap. Best to form your own assessment and talk directly to parents or players. Reach out to parents of older kids that you see as successful. Parents always like to talk about their kids.

LO doing well with 08s. Don’t know what the issue with the 09s is last year or now. We’re happy.

That sounds unprofessional and unfair to the players. Have you reached out to the club's overall Director of Coaching?

09g coach is DOC.

Don’t bother…horrible communication, lack of direction, only cared for certain players (last year the 08s who were trap players who were part of the reason the team had a few wins) Even if you reach out you’ll get or rather your player will get penalized for it by being given the silent treatment and/or benched. It’s a lose lose situation.

This is spot on. We are winning despite of the coaching due to individual excellence. Very simple and direct play. Obvious that a few of the other clubs train a more sophisticated style of play that may serve their players better in the long run. Zero communication. Everyone is scared to say anything because coach will 100% bench your DD if you do unless your DD is one of the few top players or parent is a manager. Then you can do no wrong and the coach will accommodate any and all of your requests.[/

Post above from someone on your team who is not happy?!?

MV isn't going anywhere. Not sure that's good or bad. LO needs a bigger role. Players really like her. VK is nice but not sure of his impact. And the 09s so need some help, but they are brand new team. Give them another year with maybe a few new players. Only a few returned from last year - and the record is the same with a different coach. 08s have figured it out how to play with both BRYC and VYS players and will only improve. Lots of fight on that team. 10s are good and will only get better, especially next year, so many good players. 11s have potential for sure. To the OP, you should ask for a team meeting to get direction from MK and address it. You really shouldn't go on a rant on bottom feeding board before you address it with the person you are ranting against.

Nice speech but one would have to imagine that if a coach isn’t communicating with his/her players that a one on one meeting wouldn’t solve any issues. “Hey coach, why don’t you coach our kids properly and teach them how to play soccer?” Coach, checks notes, goes on phone, you get a TeamSnap alert that your DD is not rostered next weekend. Bryc/Brave has had its challenges but learning that a whole team quit is another level. If this many parents are unhappy, is the right move to spin it and dig in or understand what the issues are and correct them? Good luck to you and look forward to seeing how much progress your younger ages have made against local rivals.

The statements in OP are untrue! MV was not the 09 coach last year! Many of the 09 parents were actually upset because they wanted him to be more involved with their team too (having observed his coaching/success with his 10s team especially). And there are so many other non-factual statements ..(his teams do not play kick-ball). It’s true that he is not the best communicator with parents unless necessary - and most parents are ok with this because he is great with the players. The kids respond very well to him. He is a coach for the serious player who wants to advance, as he is a serious and very experienced coach. The stuff on this thread is a lot of BS .. just talk to the players and parents of the teams he actually coaches/ed ..they remain with him for a reason.

What the previous poster said. This is our first year with Brave and we are there in part because of the coaching. It seems like all the coaches mentioned above (on the girls side) work with the teams in multiple age groups and my DD is very happy playing with her team, and seems to connect with the coaches, so I am happy. I understand that is is tough in some age groups, especially when not winning, but not every parent in the club feels the same way as the OP.

OP never said MV was the coach last year. He / she states that this is their first year with Brave. But if last years players wanted MV but still left what does that tell you. Other posters have said VYS plays direct transition soccer. I would equate that to close to kickball. I would also argue that anyone paying for ecnl is a serious players.
