Denmark Prince Frederik scandal

Of course it was. He spent the night in another woman’s apartment. I question the naivety of some posters on here. Would you trust your husband if he tried to tell you they were just playing cards the whole time?

Why would her abdicating be caused by the affair? Makes no sense.

It’s not. The more likely scenario is that this was a long-running affair and the blatant trip to Spain was him indulging one last time. He knew his mother was abdicating so he had one last chance to sow his oats. And now his coronation as king will push this story out of the news cycle.

How does this make sense?

Yes, because kings don’t have affairs! LOL!

Wouldn’t it be easier to have an affair when you’re king?

I normally don’t care about royals but am so curious to know what Mary is thinking. If she is desperate to be queen or just wants to keep her family together.

She doesn’t want to upend her kids’ lives.

I was just at the Slip Inn in Sydney a few days ago where Mary and Frederick met.

If I were Mary, I’d “negotiate” to spend more time in Tasmania with her family. And it would be a purely ceremonial marriage from now on. Frederick has had other affairs.

I go to Denmark a lot because I live fairly close. I’ve heard Danes accuse Frederick of being dim. Seems he is after what he did to his lovely wife.

I had no idea about the Denmark Royal family. You’re saying the Queen abdicated so as to keep her son Frederick married to his wife Mary?

Friends, she knows about the affair.

Yes, that’s a theory going around. Mary looked so sad during the holidays in Australia. There was a lot of speculation that the drama would end up in a divorce. Hard to divorce if she is Queen.

Yes.

Mary is extremely popular in her adopted country. The theory is that the royals didn’t want to risk the fallout if the affair became public or Mary decided to pack her bags.

People either think she did it in reaction to the affair going public or he had “one last hurrah” knowing her plans to announce abdication. Maybe the AP knew he was ending it and tipped off paparazzi. Either way, it’s highly unlikely the tweet events were unrelated.

What were the tweet events?
