Denmark Prince Frederik scandal

Totally normal for a married man to spend all day and all night in the company of another woman. Nothing to see here, folks.

Exactly!

Any updates on this?

Well, this is one way to change the narrative:

Queen of Denmark says she will abdicate the throne after 52 years

The queen made her announcement in her annual New Year’s Eve address tonight, paving the way for her son, Crown Prince Frederik, to reign.

This is a wild twist!

Now the stripping of her younger son’s kids’ titles makes more sense.

In the old days the wronged wife would have been placated with an expensive piece of jewelry, LOL! Or sent to the Tower.

What a twist is right! That means as of Jan 14, there won’t be any more European queens for awhile right?

"Mary, you can't divorce Frederik, you've gotta be Queen now."

So the scandal was for real. Poor Mary.

In hindsight, seems like more of a “last hurrah” for Frederick and his mistress prior to the coronation hoopla/scrutiny.

The media will stop reporting on this story once he becomes King. Kid gloves treatment.

This is what she signed up for. She gets what she wanted. She will be the queen asap.

She's not Spanish, she is Mexican.

Felt like a real love story. Maybe that insane mother in law was the tipping point that led to estrangement. And yes, I know I sound crazy but I’ve always connected with this couple!

I would love to know more about this. I searched the stepmom and didn't come up with anything. Are you talking about her mother? She died in 1997, seven years before Frederik and Mary married, so I don't understand how that would have led to estrangement.

Perhaps PP is confusing the Danish royals with the Spanish royals. Queen Letizia of Spain certainly appears to have a strained relationship with her (seemingly very difficult) mother-in-law (King Felipe's mother Sofia).

Sofia is jealous that her son seems to actually love his wife, unlike her unapologetic philandering embarrassment of a husband.

+1

Philandering, elephant-shooting embarrassment of a husband.

I’m just catching up on how she removed titles from her spare’s children and he basically hasn’t been in contact with the family since then. Now she’s stuck with the adulterer son as king. Such good drama!
