They needed to know that he would be at her place for that specific 24-hour period. The Spanish paps are not paying photogs to follow this woman around 24/7/365. She's not that famous.

Vast majority of people - even in Spain - would not recognize this guy on the street. My guess is that he's made this trip before with no issues of being recognized. Hence why he was so comfortable and nonchalant about going out in public.

Michael Sanchez sold his sister's texts with Bezos to the National Inquirer for $200K. The Sanchez siblings are allegedly estranged, but he doth protest too much. Tickles my spidey sense.
