She's lucky she and child didn't get shot. DC Mom here, I no longer even honk. (When my husband does, I cringe and duck) People here can be irrational.
I am definitely team, lady with the kid here. Hope this guy is identified and at least given a ticket. |
DP. The comedy is watching the most annoying elements of the city go at it. |
A ticket for antisemitism? |
Imagine being a person who watched the video and thought it was funny. |
No, a ticket for blocking the bike lane. Saying Jews are the devil is obnoxious and offensive but entirely legal. |

It’s funny that this woman wanted to flex and tell a random man what to do. In any other circumstance she’d be bike lane Karen. She found a man who was kind of a jerk and provoked him until she got her desired reaction. This is rage bait from a racist lady on a power trip. Antisemitism isn’t a free pass to be an a**hole biker. Sorry if I don’t automatically pick racist a**hoke biker over antisemitic a**hole SUV driver. In the end, that lady and that man deserve each other. They’re different sides of the same coin. They both represent the worst of DC. In a way, I’m glad they found each other instead of harassing the rest of us. |

complicated! |
She obviously turned around and came back to harass the man. She had her phone ready and knew this was her chance for her 15 seconds of fame. It’s hilarious that another biker zips by them as she’s explaining that the car is blocking the bike lane and must move now. |
She says "i didn't want to go into the contraflow lane".... so there was a lane for her, but she didn't want to use it? I'm still confused. |
The question recalls the famous joke told during the Holocaust, especially amongst Jews in concentration camps. Here is one formulation of the joke from Antisemitism, the first book in the trilogy that comprises Hannah Arendt’s magnum opus, The Origins of Totalitarianism: “An antisemite claimed that the Jews had caused the war; the reply was: Yes, the Jews and the bicyclists. Why the bicyclists? Asks the one? Why the Jews? asks the other.” The point of the joke is clear: Anti-Judaism is as senseless and irrational as anti-bicyclists would be. https://hac.bard.edu/amor-mundi/why-the-jews-2014-03-07 And yet, here you are. |
She clarified that she misspoke because she was flustered. When she said "I don't want to go into the contraflow lane" she meant "This is a contraflow lane, so going around you would mean pulling into oncoming traffic which is not safe." And I agree that biking into oncoming traffic is not safe. I hope you agree too. |
This is only for one way streets and she is not on a one way street. |
Imagine being a person who watched the video and thought a**hole bikers harassing people was morally righteous. Yikes. |
