I was very confused about this too, but I think that her child in the basket must be facing her, and she's moving towards the man. Article says she waited 15 minutes. He was an ass, but she should have just walked around when it was clear.

No offense but I think this misses the larger isssue.

Understatement of the year.

+1.

How about the guy breaking the law or behaving carelessly should have said “I’m so sorry. Let me move.” to the mom with a baby on a bike? At which point she would have continued on with her bike in the bike lane that’s meant for bikes.

The Native driver wanted to stick it to a white lady. That’s the beginning impetus of this incident.

And then it escalated once he made it an antisemitic incident.

Douchebag driver lives in MD. The fact that his great aunt lived in SE doesn't make him a native but his behavior makes him a douchebag.

That guy is an ahole. It was clear he was an ahole before he started spewing antisemitic BS, and that made it extra clear.

I don't know there's anything else to say.

I literally just got sick to my stomach watching this. All i could focus on was this adorable and vulnerable baby sitting there looking so innocent and adorable while someone is spewing anti-Semitic hatred in her direction. What is this world coming to?

And had the video depicted the woman calling him the n word this video would be viral and front page news across the country. Hatred is hatred. So disgusting and sad.

I think that she instigated the confrontation so that she could post it on social media is a part of the story. The other part of the story is that the person she instigated the confrontation with for social media engagement was an antisemite.

And here we go...victim blaming.

The larger issue that when you’re a jerk to people there’s a high chance they will cuss you out in anger?

Victim blaming?

What world do you live on? This mentality is gross.

A guy in huge SUV parked in the bike lane to get a reaction. He knew he was blocking cyclists and he knew he would make people angry. I’m so sick of lowlifes who do stuff like this and play victim when people (rightfully) get upset at their antisocial behavior.

He was ready with a phone to film which casts even more doubt on his intentions. Anyone who behaves like this in the city, gets yelled at. You’re mad there isn’t a Jewish exception to being a jerk?

Grow up.

? Wtf? Cuss someone out in anger? Not the same as making antisemitic comments. There's zero excuse for that.

This “trike mom” lady spends her days riding around seeking ways to bring attention to herself. A normal person would not wait there for 15 minutes instigating confrontation with their camera out. A normal person would just go around the obstacle and maybe say something while passing and go along their way. There is something off about her. And today she encountered someone even more off, an antisemite. They make a great pair and perfectly encapsulate what DC is all about these days.

So, he's breaking the law but she should have just kept her mouth shut and waited for the man to decide when to let her pass?

He was more than an ass. He's a hate filled bigot who needs to get the hell out of my city.

Life in DC. We accommodate bullies and criminals.

Exactly. Nothing more perfectly encapsulates DC at this moment in time than these two people having a confrontation with each other in a bike lane. It’s so ridiculous its hard not to laugh.

The Jewish mom was the victim that is being blamed.

They really do. One person volunteering her time to peacefully advocate for respectful and civilized society, and a selfish person stealing public space for him self and spewing pollution into the air, yelling "I don't care about your life, Jew devil".

A normal person would keep her head down and tolerate the collapse of social fabric.

Same. Seeing little kiddo all confused was just so heartbreaking.
