Antisemitic harassment in DC

Anonymous
Jewish bike commuter here. I do think it's worth keeping in mind that while, yes, the guy did say Jews are the devil, that was only well into an otherwise fairly routine argument in D.C., where a driver makes pretty clear he doesn't care about bike lanes or people on bikes. It's not like he was only blocking the bike lane for Jews. Bad either way! But completely unsurprising to me, up until he started asking about her religion.

Regardless of the bike/SUV argument, his comments about her religion were abhorrent.

And also you're not allowed to park in bike lanes.

Reverse the races and CNN has a satellite truck parked on his lawn right now and KJP would denounce him at today’s WH Press Briefing.

There's zero to defend about this guy. I don't care if that woman's Twitter feed is annoying and attention seeking (aren't most of them?). (A) you cannot block bike lanes; and (B) the antisemitism is abhorrent. Dude is a trash human.

I was thinking the same thing. This woman advocated and voted for what she is now receiving. Who could have seen it coming?

Yes, who could have seen that public protests in response to specific heinous acts of police brutality could have resulted in the collapse of basic functions of policing like traffic enforcement? If that was you, you have our undying admiration.

It was pretty obvious at the time. Didn’t need a crystal ball.

Right and we must ensure that no one in America ever complains again about any future incidents of police brutality lest our forces abrogate even more of the responsibilities necessary to ensure a modicum of public safety.

The guy is horrible but LOL bikers talking about laws. I mean do they ever follow the law?

There isn't really an argument to be had on the bike/SUV part, either -- he was parked in a bike lane.

So you even hear yourself?

The Twitter OP is a minorly famous. Has anyone caught her breaking the law?

Or is your theory that because some people break laws, laws are meaningless and should be ignored by everyone else?

The video is unclear. It looked like he was parked in a traffic lane, not only bike line.

I was very confused about this too, but I think that her child in the basket must be facing her, and she's moving towards the man. Article says she waited 15 minutes. He was an ass, but she should have just walked around when it was clear.

No offense but I think this misses the larger isssue.

I think that she instigated the confrontation so that she could post it on social media is a part of the story. The other part of the story is that the person she instigated the confrontation with for social media engagement was an antisemite.

And here we go...victim blaming.

Victim blaming?

What world do you live on? This mentality is gross.

A guy in huge SUV parked in the bike lane to get a reaction. He knew he was blocking cyclists and he knew he would make people angry. I’m so sick of lowlifes who do stuff like this and play victim when people (rightfully) get upset at their antisocial behavior.

He was ready with a phone to film which casts even more doubt on his intentions. Anyone who behaves like this in the city, gets yelled at. You’re mad there isn’t a Jewish exception to being a jerk?

Grow up.

No, we agree on that front. Victim blaming is saying that the women was looking for an incident to post on social media.

The lady says “it’s not safe to go around”
and then 10 seconds later a cyclist breezes right on by. LOL!

Do you LOL at this too?: https://chicago.suntimes.com/news/2022/6/9/23161361/uptown-child-bicycle-crash-semi

Yes, yes they do. PP is like the guy in the video, who see other human beings only as obstacles to their immediate gratification.

It really does look like there is plenty of room to go around.

It's not legal to stop your car in a bike lane. It's not legal to block the bike lane.
