They have their friends nonprofits that don’t help the kids to fund. Not a surprise. |
LOL

If only there were an abundance of free resources that one could access through the internet. |
Sone kids need more support than watching a video. Not all parents can help, especially with higher level classes. In es it’s much easier but in us it’s not. If it were that easy why are kids test scores at an all time low. |

We have also been VERY impressed with the tutor we've gotten. I mailed them about continuing through the summer etc and this is their book rates:
15-hour package: $89/hr 25-hour package: $79/hr 45-hour package: $69/hr 115-hour package: $59/hr 250-hour package: $55/hr Obviously 250 hours would be hard to use through the summer, and I guess nobody really knows at this point if MCPS is funding 2023-2024 school year stuff |
Many of us cannot afford that so we’ll lose the tutoring. |
Yes, it was nice but their prices are much cheaper than nearby tutoring centers and services we have used for lower-quality tutors. Also, the company offers such great support and been there for us so we will continue. The student director we correspond with is awesome and of course our tutor. |
Our tutor was also OG certified! She was great |
That's great if you can afford it. We cannot. We had a mix of tutors from them, but none of the current tutors are worth $90. |
I have been through a dozen tutors, for my kids through the years and the ones through Tutor Me have been the best which is a surprise. I would say their rates are fair for the quality. |
| So, the tutoring was ok through TutorMe education because it was free & easy. Now that the free tutoring has ended, what are most of you who had kids behind grade level doing for your kid for the summer? The summer school notice came so late, and we already booked camps. I will work on reading (that is where the low scores on MAP were) at home daily as much as possible, but it would be nice for a professional check in. Any recs? |
I'm having my kid work through Khan Academy for both ELA and math. |
We are looking for a middle school math teacher who is good at challenging advanced learners. If you know such a Tutor Me Education tutor, please recommend. Thanks. |
That’s OK. MCPS is giving you artificial turf. That’s more important than tutors. |
| Maybe people need to stop relying on free handouts and actually support/work with their own kids? |
