| We (finally!) got our current 5th grader's results today. Barely got them back before taking them agains this year .... |
Yay!!! Which elementary school? What do the overall results look like? Are the really that terrible? |

Thank you so much! My kid is also at cces. I just checked the mail after reading your post. Got the scores!! |
Their scoring legend still seems slightly off, but I guess they'll work that out in time. Nevertheless, glad to see that MCPS continues to outpace the state. |
The scores aren’t terrible at all. Wonder why they were sitting on them for so long… unless they fudged the scores a bit 🤔 |
Thanks, Q.
|
It's a new test so they probably need to analyze the data and come up with the scoring. |

I received my current 4th grader's today, and the results look more or less the same as I remember from my pre-covid older child. Certainly not catastrophically bad for a group of kids who were remote for part of 1st and most of 2nd.
School average 761 in ELA, and 758 in math. |
Turns out remote kids where the schools were concerned about the welfare and safety of students and teachers did no worse than those that opened. The best explanation was the stress of the pandemic made things hard for everyone. Was tired of this myth about remote anyway. |
Definitely the case for high performers who supplemented. The results for kids whose parents didn't have the resources or time to do that were not the same. |
You misunderstood. Kids where schools opened did just as badly as kids who were remote. Florida schools had similar learning loss to Moco. |
Shhh more complaining please! |
| I'm still waiting on my kid's scores! |
I don’t get why MCPS didn’t upload them all to ParentVue once they received the electronic version in Jan. Everyone already knows the results are bad. |
