If I access music on spotify or itunes, those services keep delivering me more of the same thing e.g if I put in Mumford and Sons, I then get exposed to a long progression of indie folk musicians - streaming services don't suggest hip hop or classical artists to me. Same thing with netflix etc - I don't watch superhero movies or anime, so these never pop up in my suggested lists. I'm not listening to contemporary music on the radio where music selections might be more random (but not necessarily given the number of specialist radio stations).

I don’t know any Taylor Swift songs top to bottom. I listen to the radio and hear Beyoncé played. I open IG and tic tok and head Beyoncé played. You’re absolutely lying. Beyoncé is everywhere and I’m not even a true fan.

I don't think so. As someone who isn't a fan of either one of them, I still find myself encountering Taylor Swift's music on a regular basis. I don't find that to be as true with Beyoncé. And I think that's at least partly by design. Swift is essentially aiming to be a pop star. Seems like Beyoncé is aiming for something deeper lately, working in different genres, connecting with history. Wasn't this last album in the dance/electronic category? That's great, but not as many people listen to that genre as pop.

Beyonce is 41. She was the "it" singer a generation ago. My kids have no idea who she is, but they know all about Harry Styles, TS, Lizzo, etc. I don't understand all the hubbub about her not winning. Who cares? She has 32 grammys and is one of the richest women not just in entertainment but on the planet. She's not getting any younger and I imagine fewer young people will care about her music in years to come. Relevancy is fleeting and tastes change. It's sort of how life works.

I said Swift was more popular. Which is backed up by RIAA numbers. Swift has sold more than Beyonce by far.

It was one of his worst performances, imo. He was nervous, and didn't get to feed off the crowd like he does at his concerts. He's still magnetic though!

Not sure why they had to add the risk of a turntable. Why not allow him to sing like he does at concerts day in and day out.

The performance was subpar because the technician made a mistake at the show and sent the turntable spinning the wrong way. So he and the dancers had to on the spot reverse/mirror the choreography they had practiced with the turntable spinning the other way.
