She is less relevant now. But as someone else pointed out - and as the winners show - the Academy loves to award for the body of work. I think it is weird that Taylor hasn't won song of the year ever. She is an okay singer but a great songwriter. I wouldn't have given it to her this year - 10 minute version of an already-known song seems a stretch to reward. |
Agree, Beyonce is irrelevant. So glad she did not give a long speech. It's always cringy to watch her talk. She's not the sharpest tool in the box. |
| This is an interesting analysis of how voting for album of the year works https://www.vulture.com/2023/02/grammys-2023-why-harry-styles-beat-beyonce-album.html |
Taylor Swift should not have won AOTY 3 times with her crappy basic a** music and remedial songwriting. There I said it. |
If Beyoncé wants to win AOTY she will have to become white. |
| Beyonce is someone everyone is being pushed to like but no one really does. We are supposed to like her music, but its not that great. |
Same to be said about Taylor Swift. |
+1 |
Like Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, Quincy Jones, Natalie Cole, Whitney Houston, Lauryn Hill, OutKast, Ray Charles, Herbie Hancock, Bruno Mars, and Jon Batiste? |
Did TS enter the same work —All Too Well (short film version) for both Song and Video and won a Grammy for the video? |
David Bowie never won Album of the Year. DAVID BOWIE! He won one for a video in 1985 then got a lifetime achievement grammy in 2006, probably because he influenced practically everyone. Then he got four for his last album in 2017 after he had died. Queen has never won a grammy. |
You really think you did something with that list. We just watched the 64th Grammys. Taylor swift has won 3 times. |
So what? She's popular and catchy. Her music is unavoidable. It's not a surprise that lots of voters know her albums and vote for them. It's not some some grand conspiracy. |
So Beyoncé isn’t known, popular or catchy? Her music isn’t unavoidable? |
