Fairfax County police have charged a former elementary school PTA president with embezzling more than $180,000 during the five years she led the group.

Triantafilitsa Mattfeld, 48, served as president and treasurer of the Navy Elementary School PTA, now called a parent teacher organization, between 2001 and 2006.

Nobody cares about this. Ancient history.

And isn’t he still in jail?

I don’t think so.

Also, check out Melissa Tochterman. She was caught shoplifting at the local Target and is now at Herndon High I believe.

Indeed. Tochterman has continued to move up the administration ladder. She had been an ES AP.

How kind of FCPS to give Tochterman second and third chances. Don’t make you a bad person.

RESTON, Va. (WRIC) — A Northern Virginia Assistant Principal was arrested after she was caught stealing from a Target.

According to affiliate WJLA, 47-year-old Melissa Tochterman was arrested and charged with grand larceny. She is listed as an assistant principal at Hunter Woods Elementary School in Reston.

According to police, Tochterman left the Target, located at 12197 Sunset Hills Road, last Thursday with a cart full of unpaid merchandise worth $690. Officers who were called to the scene about a shoplifting case arrested her after reviewing video footage.

A Fairfax County Public Schools spokesperson says that Tochterman has since been placed on leave following the arrest.

Was she actually convicted or were the charges dropped? Also, she did not return to her original ES which was Hunters Woods.

Mr. Coch’s mugshot is embarrassing. There is no way he can return to the Navy community.

What second and third chances???? As far as I know, this was the only incident. Are there other reports of her breaking the law? I’m sure we can all agree that theft from a Target is on a different level from driving drunk, hitting a house and driving off.

I did feel awful seeing his mugshot. Seriously, this is not minimally the man we know as Navy’s principal. I seriously wonder if it was his birthday and it was one crazy “I’m gonna totally unwind and get drunk!” Vs alcoholism. Regardless, bad judgements and decisions… We will really miss him at Navy, though.

Sad.

FCPS gives second chances and protects certain people. Michelle Lyttle got a second chance, Tocherman, Erinn Lenard. Not Azimi.

That was under Brabrand. Perhaps the new superintendent won’t tolerate this.

The ironic thing is Azimi was at Thoreau MS and Coch left Navy temporarily to cover for him when Azimi was placed on leave.

middle aged professionals do not get blasted in the middle of the day and then drive away drunk on their birthday unless they have a problem. If that was really it, wouldn't he have been drinking with friends and family who would have not let him drive?

cannot seriously people believe he "drank too much bc it was his birthday" and that's all this was.

I was a Navy parent for 8 of his years there and had no complaints with him.
I also consider myself a realist.

So you’re saying that everyone here did the same thing? Did any of them get arrested and charged with a felony as a drunk driver such a the Navy principal has been? Or is every single mistake/misbehavior/violation the same in your mind and deserves the exact same response?
