For the initial arrest probably not, as he began his tenure well after the first arrest took place. The only one in deep shit is Braindead Brabrand who knew and did nothing according to Chesterfield police.

WJLA has a very extensive article on this.

Lots of mistakes by FCPS. The timeline does not line up, even for the new superintendent.

FCPS is too big to function properly. It needs to be split into several smaller districts.

WJLA is owned by the right wing Sinclair Broadcasting Company that has brought heavily partisan segments into local news around the country. WJLA has leaned hard into its “crisis in the classroom” theme for political ends. I wouldn’t trust their reporting.

Since when did it become partisan to report on a child sex predator in our public schools?

To discredit solid reporting just because you perceive the news organization to be on the conservative side is really messed up.

It’s more troubling to know the Washington Post continues to ignore this story because it doesn’t fit their narrative. If they ever do report on the story, it will only be because other news outlets like WJLA reported it.

The question is whether it is “sound reporting.” This is a serious issue that needs to be figured out. I’m glad FCPS is investigating and would welcome reputable media to do same. WJLA isn’t it.

Oh, STFU. Your “reputable media” consistently buries inconvenient stories that might reveal the pervasive incompetence and venality within FCPS.

Perhaps thanks to WJLA Brabrand will be asked to resign from his current position with VASS and there will be an investigation by state authorities into exactly why he did not take prompt action as FCPS superintendent upon being made aware of the predator at Glasgow.

Yours is the kind of rhetoric that makes people avoid outlets such as WJLA.

Sycophants like you have helped degrade FCPS.

Until 20 years ago school districts would bury stories like this. My Moco high school has a statutory rape situation. Teacher was fired but never prosecuted. Also happened at my middle school. Fired but no charges no media coverage.

Until we have PROOF that the other police department actually sent an email to a valid FCPS account, we don't know who is at fault.

Frankly, this is the type of info that should be communicated by mail with proof of service.

Also, school districts would move teachers that had been accused by students, even/especially when no charges were filed, since students are not always reliable. That doesn't seem to be the case here but I knew of a couple teachers when I was growing up who were accused by students (falsely, since I also knew the kids) and were moved but never prosecuted.

Same thing happened in this case -- this piece of trash taught in 3 different school systems, always being told to "go quietly" when there were rumblings of indiscretions. Luckily, one of his MULTIPLE victims had the courage to come forward... I am personally invested in this case and the amount of teachers who do not face accountability for their actions is appalling. https://richmond.com/news/local/crime-and-courts/powhatan-band-director-now-faces-9-charges-involving-5-underage-teens-spanning-more-than-a/article_d61b89a2-9514-5654-a3ec-d8b2e22e3030.html

But Brabrand sat on this info because a PP said so!!

brabrand should be fired and prosecuted just like the Freedom Hill and Thoreau principals.

So now chesterfield police said their emails were returned as undeliverable and they didn’t do anything to make sure FCPS knew about the arrest! The police need to be investigated for their negligence and Youngkin needs to take back his press attack on FCPS redirect it to the chesterfield police. I am so tired of Youngkin trying to attack schools without a basis.

You need to be very careful the direction you take this thread. The Thoreau principal was never “fired”. As a matter of fact all charges were dismissed by a judge and then the state expunged the case as well.
The courthouse is your source not the internet . You are walking very closely to the line of defaming someone here and this thread is about that Glasgow counselor, not the Freedom Hill and Thoreau principals. Stay on topic.

Also how can Brabrand be fired when he’s no longer the FCPS superintendent? Fired from what? And prosecuted for what crime?

Typica WJLA burying the important failure of the chesterfield police department in not following up on undeliverable emails! Meanwhile they keep up a story with the headline of Youngkin blasts FCPS.

Such corruption by the right wing.
