The link just says that the police say they 'notified' FCPS two years ago and that they then called again this June (which is when FCPS took action). It doesn't say there was any verification of the notification.

I am the pp from way up in this chain who teaches for a neighboring county and has never had a background or reference check. Have been talking with co-workers. No one has signed anything permitting background checks for there school system jobs. We’ve all done them for other jobs, so we know what they usually entail. Are any of the people commenting about the excellent background checks at FCPS current staff members? Are people in the know vouching for the fact that these checks are really happening, in actual practice? Sorry parents, but the amount you think you know that is actually wrong is astounding, so I am not sure what the truth really is.

yes. The police dept. sent an email to FCPS -- well, to whom did they send the alleged email? Was that email address valid? Did the person still work here? Seems to me that a police department shouldn't be relaying this type of information via email with no record of receipt. They should be sending this information by MAIL where there can be a record of it being delivered.

I know we are never going to get an answer to this, and he should have been fired anyway, but it makes a heck of a lot of difference if he was seeking out underage prostitutes vs seeking out prostitutes and ending up with a 16/17 year old. The latter is still a crime, but the former just feels so much worse given his role.

There is no such thing as an underage prostitute-it’s child trafficking. Stop victim blaming. Originally Jeffrey Epstein was charged with minor prostitutes too and those girls were not.

Yes, I had a background check when I was hired less than two years ago.

Yes, the background checks happen in real practice. You are fingerprinted. There are items that are flagged in your record. It takes a long time. It is done for subs, long-term subs, staff and teachers.

For the initial arrest probably not, as he began his tenure well after the first arrest took place. The only one in deep shit is Braindead Brabrand who knew and did nothing according to Chesterfield police.

Lots of mistakes by FCPS. The timeline does not line up, even for the new superintendent.

FCPS is too big to function properly. It needs to be split into several smaller districts.
